It an odd but interesting video shot by a GoPro inside a unmanned QF-16 looking aft as it goes through maneuvers etc. Whats also interesting the sheer amount of condensation that occurs at different altitudes etc. These are going to make a heck of a drone for pilots to shoot at.

edit on 10/31/17 by FredT because: (no reason given)

That was back during the first unmanned flight a couple years ago.

Yeah but its still an odd look IMHO. You have to wonder what the QF-15's will be like

Won't happen. They have too many structural issues to make decent QFs.

I worked the F-16 for quite a few years. Our pilots loved trying to fly the wings off of the damned things... I guess they finally succeeded...

Tyndall, cool. I spent just about 2 months there. Fell in love with a Colonels daughter, beautiful girl.

Is that the same amount of condensation inside the cockpit as if there was a pilot in there flying it? Seemed like an awful lot during landing, unless that was just the perspective making it look like more than it was.

Yes. They were always blowing condensation like that when they were taxiing in and out.

Not to mention TY is in Florida where it is humid as hell!!

Don't they have an adjustment for the pilot to adjust the air and it's flow? I would assume when being piloted by a person they can dial it back on take off and landing. When in QF mode obviously no need to. Matter of fact I would image the colder the better for cooling computer equipment in the cockpit?

Yeah, they can adjust it quite a bit in flight. They have to keep it to a certain level for the electronics cooling, but they can adjust it down to where they don't freeze through the flight.

That's what I was wondering was if they can tone it down a bit haha I wouldn't want that blowing in my face while I'm trying to land.

Not to mention the 6+ hour ferry flights to and from Japan from Hawaii, or to and from Hawaii from the West Coast.
