At least 6 dead after suspect crashes truck in Lower Manhattan, shouts 'Allahu Akbar'

At least six people are dead after a driver barreled into a bike path and crashed a rental pickup truck into a crowd in Lower Manhattan Tuesday afternoon, shouting "Allahu Akbar,"

Another nine people were injured, authorities said. Police tweeted that one person -- who police shot twice -- has been taken into custody and is expected to survive. Police added that there are "no others outstanding."

8 dead so far...a pellet and paintball gun was recovered from the truck and suspect was shot in the abdomen by the police.

Sounds like the bus driver is a hero. Sad the poor man will have to wait a while for his virgins. Cops shot him twice, but didn't kill him.

Somebody will come forward that works with him or is a neighbor or attends mosque with him. They will talk about what a good guy he is and how friendly and kind he was to everybody. His family will deny they knew he was going to do something like this.

These muslims are so nice.......till they're not. Flip a switch and that nice neighbor/co-worker/family member goes off and rents a truck and runs over innocent people just enjoying their day.

The ease at which these sick people are able to get their hands on semi-trailer assault trucks is just sickening. Its really time to put an end to these unthinkable acts of murder and start having a system for background checks for people wanting to rent these high capacity vehicles. There is no need for a truck to pass speed limit, and no need for everyday citizens to rent such big trucks, when they can just rent smaller ones ! Have the truck attacks in Nice France and Berlin Germany taught us nothing ?!?!?!?!?!?!?
