Democratic power lobbyist Tony Podesta, founder of the Podesta Group, is stepping down from the firm that bears his name after coming under investigation by Special Prosecutor Robert Mueller.
Podesta announced his decision during a firm-wide meeting Monday morning and is alerting clients of his impending departure.
Podesta is handing over full operational and financial control to longtime firm CEO Kimberley Fritts, according to multiple sources with knowledge of the meeting. Fritts and a senior group of the Podesta team will be launching a new firm in the next one or two days. Sources said the transition has been in the works for the past several months.

And the fallout of the Mueller investigation continues. Doubtless there will be spin aplenty from both sides in regards to who has more mud on them. Interesting that the direction the aftermath of the Mueller investigation seems to be having is not quite what some were hoping for.
It looks like all of this has been having an affect upon the lobbying group for some time:
Podesta Group has struggled in the wake of the Mueller investigation. More than a dozen of its lobbying clients have cut ties with the firm this year, according to lobbying filings. Revenues have also declined: The firm brought in an estimated $4.8 million in the third quarter of 2017, down from $5.2 million in the second quarter of 2017 and from $6.1 million in the third quarter of 2016.

ETA: What a bad time for Hillary to have launched her world book tour.
She is always one step ahead, she comes ok out even if everyone else has to die.

Unless charges are brought against other guilty parties, this looks
like Mueller was simply a way to continue to preserve the protection
Of HRC, and others who were doing quid quo pro deals with Russia.
Once Comey was out they had to get Mueller in asap.

“How Lobbyists Help Ex-Soviets Woo Washington” by Glenn R. Simpson and Mary Jacoby would describe how various top tier americans went into the former Soviet colony to, as they say, help out. There was the notable example of William Sessions, the former head of the FBI, who’d become a lawyer for Semyon Mogilevich, who his former agency considered one of Russia’s most powerful organized crime figures and had the distinction of being on their “most wanted” list. Sessions would approach his former agency with a deal: Mogilevich would provide them with vital information related to Islamist terrorism, if they could work out his legal problems. The FBI turned down the offer321. The European Centre for a Modern Ukraine (ECFMU) was an advocacy group for Viktor Yanukovych and his political bloc, The Party of Regions, co-founded by Leonid Khazara, another Party of Regions member, and Tony Podesta, of the lobby shop the Podesta Group and brother of Clinton chief of staff John Podesta, and it was formed to lobby in favor of Yanukovych and the Party of Regions without registering under the Foreign Agent Act, all of which was described in “How Foreign Governments Make Sure You Don’t Know They’re Lobbying You” by Rosie Gray322.

For sure. Mueller will have no credibility if he doesn't go after Podesta. Podesta did all the same stuff as Manafort, except he was working for the Democrats. This is the point where Hillary and Obama will unavoidably get dragged into the investigation, because they are close associates of the Podestas.

It was actually a shrewd move by tony podesta to step down today.
He knows the media cycle will be all about the indictments, and so this way it flys under the radar.
