Rome and Greece conquered the known World.

No. They conquered a fair portion of Europe and North Africa.

The United States has conquered the whole world.

Russia and China to name but two would disagree.

This exceptionalist nonsense has always been toxic, but one of the reasons for that, is that it replaces reality with something else, which is never permissible or wise to do.

I wasn’t saying they were..

The celts were not a single empire either. In fact they were even more tribal. Yet they ejected the romans.

Yet in the Middle Ages the north Umbrians, Wessex , Mercia and such couldn’t handle the Vikings..

I said England as a location on a map, not as a baton.

It was also accompanied by the fall of the Roman Empire and big regressions in math, science, politics and philosophy... literacy plummeted..about the only real technological gain was in smithing. Mainly armor and swords.

It’s called the dam Ages because we know so little.. because society crashed..

Rome founded as a pagan country=753bc

Rome converted to Christianity= 312ad

Year Rome fell=476ad

1062 years as pegans.

158 years under Christianity..

Nuff said.

Ejected the Romans ?

You do realise that the people of Wales where Celts ?

You do realise that Wales was occupied by The Romans for over 300 years ?

thehistoryofwales.typepad.com...

You lack of knowledge of The British Isles is somewhat embarrassing.

If you had bothered to read my previous post and digest what i stated, this has already been explained.

Relative to the Industrial Age on....

You know the second the churches lost their strangle hold on society and we went from the horse and buggy to the moon in 80 years..

Compared to that the renaissance was down right glacial.
