This is precisely for this reason (the partnership between US and Kurds) that Turkey decided to disclose the US bases location in Syria.
The Kurds are divided and even if some factions are teaming with Assad, some of them are more likely to support other - very questionable - partners.

Constitution was changed in 2012 during Arab spring. Assad can legally run for 1 more term in 2021.

The constitution can an will be changed if Assad wants it too. Or it would simply be Russia when Putin "let" another run for him and he stood behind pulling strings.

The constitution cannot be easily changed. The parliament can change it, but they won't unless a major event happens.
