10/26/2017 — LARGE PACIFIC EARTHQUAKE WARNING ISSUED

A warning has been issued for the potential of a large earthquake as a result of a deep seismic event which occurred in the West Pacific.

The warning only covers this coming week (approximately 7-9 days).

As things stand currently (Oct. 26, 2017) , over the past 48 hours, multiple deep earthquakes have occurred below the West Pacific, including Indonesia, Japan’s Izu trench, Fiji, and South America.

I am sick to death over the Cascadia doom porn and normally I just pass by the articles and don't read them. This one though? I've read the article and I'm listening to the video now. This guy really makes a lot of sense and there's a lot of data he's got behind him...

This deep earthquake activity indicates the whole of the Pacific plate has been displaced, and will be compensating over the next week with larger seismic activity.

So because of these 'deep earth' quakes he's saying the whole of the tectonic plate is going to be shifting over the next week or so - and that means by his findings - we're going to get hit.

Listening to his video and reading the page and other articles? He's predicted EQ's and been almost spot on many times in the past.

I do appreciate at the end he says:

Have a plan this week for the large earthquake potential, don’t be scared – be prepared.

I sure hope he's wrong.

At some point, one of these dire predictions will hit. Maybe this is one of those times. Let's hope not.

wow. this is early for this kind of activity... normally its early December. hope the vulnerable places brace properly.

We just had the Autumn equinox when the Sun crosses the Equator. Now it is Spring/Summer in the Southern Hemisphere and Autumn/Winter in the Northern Hemisphere. Around December, we'll have the Winter solstice when the Sun is at it's Southern-most point.

Off the Oregon and Washington coast, the Juan de Fuca oceanic plate is slowly moving under the North American plate. Geological clues show that it last jolted and unleashed a major earthquake in 1700, and that it does so roughly once every 500 years. It could happen any day.

Overall, the results confirm that coastal areas would be hardest hit, and locations in sediment-filled basins like downtown Seattle would shake more than hard, rocky mountaintops. But within that general framework, the picture can vary a lot; depending on the scenario, the intensity of shaking can vary by a factor of 10. But none of the pictures is rosy.

Univ. of Washington - 50 simulations of the ‘Really Big One’ show how a 9.0 Cascadia earthquake could play out.

This made a few headlines the other day on a couple sites. But it was only simulations. Funny how when in the middle of a drill the exercise becomes a real "go time". Let's hope that same is not true for earthquake simulations!

The PNW coast is the place to not be should the fault slip at that high of a magnitude. They are not sure how far east it would go. Or how it would interact with northern California (fires, eq, all those poor people need are plagues and tsunami for events of a true biblical proportion). The article does not mention tsunami so who knows?

The whole ring of fire, huh? We'll I'll chime in should anything major happen as Anchorage sits at the tip and we have a couple volcanoes less than 100 miles away to the south of us.

Well, it will happen eventually... whether it be the subduction zone or further South...

I guess time will tell...

Cascadia is often overlooked; as is the New Madrid in the East...

It's would catch a lot of people off guard though, regardless.

Eventually ol' dutchy will be right about this. This isn't the first big quake he's called for in this area this year.

He (and his sycophants) will tell you he's got a 95% accuracy, but he (nor any of his foolowers) track how often he is wrong or how much he has to stretch to make some of the 'hits' fit.

Yes, Cascadia will eventually have a megathrust earthquake which could produce a sizable tsunami.

No, it doesn't have anything to do with the deep earthquakes over on the other side of the planet. There are areas that have historically deep quakes. All one has to do is the barest minimum amount of clicking around at USGS or EMSC to find the information.

Just in case, do they do winning lottery numbers too?

One thing to make note of, Jupiter is almost directly opposite the Sun right now, in fact today October 26th is Jovian conjunction. Venus is tugging too, thats quite a lot of gravitation coming from one area..

When the Moon is near the Sun and Jupiter in the sky, is my best guess for a potentially large earthquake.

There are always these idiots who are predicting earthquakes. When it happens they say they predicted it, never mind the million missed predictions.

As someone who lives in the Ring of Fire .... these people need strung up. We have the supermoon guy down here (New Zealand). Never you mind that its all bunk. Planetary alignments don't work either. Sorry guys, but no.

Around 6:30pm there was a 2.8 eq( I didn't feel it or didn't notice what it was but some people claimed to have) in the Cascadia area-see here. Largest at the moment for the Puget Sound. Good thing as well that these small ones happen, letting off steam so to speak.
