Just a short time ago, the Mayor of San Juan in PR (Carmen Cruz) was one of the most vocal opponents of President Trump's relief efforts for the island territory. There has been many allegations, including tons of discarded/poorly managed relief aide discovered by PR's SECSTATE. These local officials (specifically San Juan Mayor Carmen Cruz) have been standing in the way of relief efforts, attempting to use the disaster toward their own political ends. The Whitefish incident is one more attempt by Cruz to gain political support at the expense of PR. Fortunately for us, she has absolutely no control over the electric authority of PR.

However, she is vocally against the current relief efforts by Whitefish to restore electric infrastructure on the island. Because the company may have a connection/loyalty to the duly elected POTUS, she would rather them pack up and go home instead of continue their relief efforts. This is an example of a petty bureucrat that only cares about their constitutents at election time.

The choice of electric contractors was between Whitefish and another company who required a $25,000,000 deposit before the work could begin. Naturally, the officials responsible for the power grid in PR went with the company that didn't require any down payment or deposit: Whitefish. Apparently their loyaltly or connection to the President's SEC INTERIOR is a disqualifier though, who knew? She'd rather watch American citizens suffer needlessly without power than accept that personal grudges need to be put aside of the good of the country (and territory) during a disaster - something she has failed to learn throughout this entire disaster.

Mayor Carmen Cruz has been a roadblock to the recovery efforts from day one. Instead of making recommendations of improvement to the disaster response authorities, she participated in a hysterical tirade against the POTUS who isn't even personally responsible for disaster relief; That would be FEMA not the POTUS. Carmen Cruz should step aside and let those dedicated to restoring the infrastructure of PR do their jobs. She is a political hack, and the citizens of PR have suffered enough at her and several others' hands.

Amazingly, it turns out the Trump Admin's relief plan was brilliant and would have been seen as such without these local yokels getting involved. These people are always big on insults and outrage, but they all have one thing in common: they lack any cohesive idea about an effective alternative response (big mouths, little ideas). Hey, I can admit biased against this worthless figurehead politician... this is the mud pit, right? Time to continue purging the ranks of the establishment crows on both sides of the party line - at all levels of government.

Usually the contractor's bid, submit bonding and insurance information and usually the lowest bidder is awarded the job. An employee count of Two, is ludicrous.

She is right. It's a two man company.

A $300 million contract to help rebuild Puerto Rico's electrical infrastructure, which was awarded to a small, two-year-old Montana company that had only two employees when Hurricane Maria struck the U.S. territory, has sparked calls for an investigation from both Republicans and Democrats on Capitol Hill.

USA Today

In addition to its size and relative inexperience, the fact that Whitefish Energy Holdings is based in Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke's hometown of Whitefish, Mont., is fueling questions about how Whitefish Energy Holdings secured the lucrative contract. The former Montana congressman's son also had a summer job at a Whitefish construction site.

And, it's not just her!

Lawmakers seek probe of power contract to Zinke neighbor

Members of Congress from both parties on Tuesday called for an investigation into a $300 million contract awarded to a small company based in Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke's hometown of Whitefish, Montana.

Pay to play carpet bagger! This deal stinks from the head!

You do realize how long it takes for the government to take bids right? Guess not! You would rather see the people of Puerto Rico suffer due your political bias.

she'd be well ahead to make her comments and let it proceed. If it tanks she will gain some credibility among her skeptics....if it doesnt....well she can keep on spewing partisan nonsense.

Your right it is a 2 man company but what they/you fail to mention is that the company is basically a broker, ie middle man. Do I think it smells because of who owns the company? Yes I do.

However, should we do business as normal and require bids and wait the red tape and jumping thru hoops the government requires?

Damned if you do and damned if you don't! This woman in PR is a self proclaimed Marxist, she would rather see her people suffer than drop her political church in a time of a tragedy.

Can you explain to us what two men are going to do by themselves to restore power to PR?

You're the one so full of bias it's leaking out of your ears. Trump can't admit that he handled PR horribly from the get go. In order to save his ego he has to malign anyone calling him on his BS and you're just wagging your tail like a good puppy.
