I acknowledge that I've asked this before and I think I remember others asking as well...

And I acknowledge that this site is owned by people who have to decide how best to keep the business going....

And I acknowledge that I'm only one of X-number of end users (customers), so my opinion my not have much value....

But... Seriously.... WHEN will ATS change the Obama Icon for this topic? They don't have to make it a Trump icon. There are dozens (or hundreds) of other figures to use.

I'm sure those who run this site can check stats and see that I'm not the most prolific poster but at the same time I'm sure they can see that statistically I (and people somewhat like me) just get turned off about things and frequent this site less and less.

Seriously though, Obama's time has come and gone and the future will see how his ideas pan out.

He IS gone now... Can't we change the icon?

I suggested this before in a competition to replace that icon. Unsanctioned competitions are against the T&Cs so the thread got trashed, my bad.

However, since this subject has come up again, I'll put forward my submission for consideration, in a highly un-competitive manner, just an idea.

Maybe Trump's head won't fit.

Maybe we could have an ATS vote? This being a conspiracy site, I nominate one of the cheese heads from "They Live."

Perhaps there could be an ATS poll at some point in the future? Like, maybe in January 2017 as a tentative possibility (so the site owners can have some time to plan ahead and it's more convenient for them that way)?

I suggest Robin Williams.

He is a ‘people’.

I could get behind that.

Maybe Robin Williams as Mrs. Doubtfire.

To symbolize the often two faced nature of politics.

Though I feel that would be a disservice to dear 'ole Mrs Doubtfire.

ETA:

Maybe "Gooooooood morning Vietnam" Williams.

Maybe the icon should be of a screw.

Because that's what politicians do to people.

It's the Iron Throne, from Game of Thrones.

I don't recall what previous "change the icon" thread I made it for though.

Generally: Anyone more relevant than Obama

Slightly more specifically: The Monopoly Guy

I like that idea but feel it is more a corporate vibe than political.

But often I feel, what's the difference anyway?

I don`t think anyone is even administering this site anymore since they haven`t changed that icon which has been obsolete for almost a year. That obsolete icon makes the site look neglected or abandoned by the admins. not going to attract or retain many new people when your site looks like it`s been abandoned for almost a year.

What is obvious is the mods do not want to put Trump there. Real obvious.

My own previous suggestion has been to settle the matter more permanently, and to neutralise it as a political issue, by taking a figure from history rather than from current politics.
In fact the neutrality of the icon would be further improved if it represented a non-American individual.
What about (purely at random) Benjamin Disraeli?
