Wow, the hatred towards Taurus! I've carried the Taurus PT709 slim for about a year now and have never had an issue. Don't know how many rounds through it at the range with different ammo and no trouble.

Brother carries the PT111 and hasn't had any issues with it.

You both got ones that either were built when the tooling was new, or were built on a Wednesday before lunch while the owner was visiting...

The Taurus revolvers are not as unreliable as the semi-autos.

I know this is a little late, but I have one and its my primary carry pistol. Yes it is VERY inexpensive but not cheap my any means...hell it has a trigger better than many guns more than double the cost. Mine is very accurate, fits my hand well and I absolutely love the stippling. I highly recommend it
