I still can't decide if this bear is brilliant business or brilliant politicking?

I guess whether intended or not, it's both.

I think it's brilliant business actually. I think it's funny to people on both sides if they don't take it too seriously.

Well, we both know how that goes lately.

Free enterprise, so it's probably a little of both.

Why not? I'm not going to buy one, God knows, but I certainly don't care if anyone else does.

That's the problem, though.

Some will take it way, way too seriously.

I don't either. In fact, I never really cared that there was a Trump bear. It was the commercial I was reacting to.

Gladly they used "Trumpy" and not "Trump."

Trump has apparently trademarked "Trump," among many others. He *can* make, or sue for, money simply by virtue of his name being used for profit.

I believe the Trump® team had something to do with this. Probably some kind of backdoor licensing deal. That's the only reason I can think of why it costs so much.

So you're DIY'ing your own Trump bear? lol. Can't wait to see the pics.

Hopefully I'll get back to it later this week. Now that I see there's still some interest in this "unique toy."

I found a pretty good size Teddy Bear, a white Collar shirt, a boring tie, an 18" reflective flag decoration, and somebody's donated toupee. The bear is a bit more orange than the official Trumpy Bear.

BTW, what you wrote made me think of...how about making a Humpty Trumpty Wall?

That's pure genius. Humpty Trumpty Bear sits on a wall. Now what's the best way to build the wall? Maybe something like a picket fence, with small heavily-armed military figurines wearing ICE insignia standing in front of it.

Yep. But that thread is dead, and this is just too good of a topic to let get buried!

$40.00 for a piece of American History? My goodness, the eyebrows and hair alone are worth that!

To be fair, FDR did it! That's why we call them "Teddy Bears".

Trump never really does anything original. Every political move he's made is from someone else's handbook.

You do realize Trump has nothing to do with this product or commercial, right?

No, he's not aware. All he had to see was "Trump" and he ran to the keyboard like a crackhead sees a small white rock on the sidewalk and got to his insulting like he does every day.

I think it's a bit silly but then again, I didn't buy one. I didn't buy the Barack Obama doll either. I REALLY wanted the shirtless Putin riding a bear but they were sold out.
