The Campos story is important to the casinos because it helps to keep faith in their security - and consequently your safety while there. What surprises me is that not only does he not show up for the interview but that nobody does. One would think the Union he worked for would have had a spokesperson with him on stage or in this case to speak in his stead. Like I said before, public opinion is riding on this and it appears that someone wants to sabotage the casino industry. George Soros we know had taken out a put option for $42 million (not big money in his world) that MGM stock would lose value. He has an vested interest in seeing the company stock plummet.

Behind all this may be a power play for control of Vegas. We had the mob family wars years ago and now we have hedge fund managers and the big banks vying for control of one of America's biggest money makers, Las Vegas. Someone wants to buy up control, that is the thing to keep an eye open for IMO. Unfortunately I find financial dealings very boring even though it's what ultimately decides the important issues in the world today. My eyes glaze over and I want to take a nap when read about who bought up who, only to find these are only frontmen for someone else behind them.

Follow the money, ultimately it will lead to the answers we'd all like to have.

You're supposed to use a cane in the opposite hand from the leg or hip that the injury is in. That way when your injured leg goes forward, the opposite hand goes forward. A natural walking motion.

If you are using a cane because one leg is weak or painful, hold the cane on the opposite side from the weak or painful leg. For example, if your right hip is sore, hold the cane in your left hand.

Let me also direct you to the expression on Campos face...looks a bit like terror (yes he has been through a lot I KNOW!) But he is getting a commendation from his MOB Union bosses as a HERO!

Shouldn't he look a little less like he was just told "If you do what we told you, you'll make some money if you don't you'll have an another accident...?

Jesus doesn't look like a happy Campos in those pics. But maybe he's simply that kind of person that is uncomfortable being the centre of attention. The wound and the shock of how close he came to meeting his maker could explain this too of course.

But since we are on ATS (adjusts tinfoil hat): what if MGM management let him know in no uncertain terms that he was quite understandably confused about the events of that night. Giving interviews now could be a serious risk for his health. Chris Cornell (Soundgarden) comes to mind who hanged himself in his room at the MGM Grand Detroit hotel - or did he?

Never heard that before... Doesn't make much sense to let your sore or injured leg be the one without support. You're going to need that cane to support the bad leg as you walk with your good leg, no?

It does, certainly. And I certainly don't have any sort of information one way or the other. Just offering an alternative idea really. Plenty of folks decline interviews and don't want to become famous. Plenty of folks would rather avoid the spotlight.

Especially when, if we're being honest, he's really not under any sort of obligation to talk to anybody but law enforcement.

Then why set up 5 interviews?

Did he get cold feet? Alright, but that doesn't mean you have to off grid, does it?

Doesn't make a ton of sense at first blush, but a cane isn't supposed to be used the same way a crutch is used. Crutches get used on the same side of the injury, canes don't.

Canes aren't (supposed to be) there to support a lot of weight, whereas crutches are.

Here is what was said about his disappearing:

Hickey said he had been with Campos for the last four days, along with another union member, helping him prepare for media interviews. He said Campos was staying in a Las Vegas-area hotel suite, with a living room and an adjoining bedroom.

On Thursday at about 1 p.m., Hickey said he and the union’s local president took a meeting with MGM officials in the bedroom, while Campos, the other union member and a security guard hired by MGM to protect Campos waited in the living room.

At 2 p.m., when Hickey emerged from the meeting, he said Campos and the other people were gone.

Hickey said he called and texted the other union member. The only response he received is that Campos was being taken to a Quick Care health clinic.

According to the above, Campos was last seen in the presence of an as yet to be named union member and a similarly nameless security guard who was hired by MGM.

Looking at the map of the Monte Carlo here:



One can see that the first floor location would put him outside the High Limit tables, however, if you look at the 2nd floor map, that would put the location of the photo in the conference room. The only thing is, none of the conference rooms I have seen for the Monte Carlo look at all like the photo award ceremony photos.

There is a restaurant very near the Monte Carlo (perhaps in the same complex) that had the decor shown in the photo, but it has since been renovated meaning it no longer looks like the award photos.

One of the most recent news stories I can find is this one and in it is said:

David Hickey, president of the Security, Police, and Fire Professionals of America union, said it had been four days since he last saw Jesus Campos.

“We have had no contact with him…. Clearly, somebody knows where he is," he said.
...
Friends, co-workers and neighbors who know Campos described him as a private person. Still, Jaime Ruano, Campos’ neighbor, also wondered why the security guard has apparently disappeared.

"He's a hero,” Ruano said, “and nobody knows where he is.”

He is literally in the wind.

Sad that so many in this loop didn't check with the authority on truth first. If this turns out to be something more than what they claim, I see their credibility level moving to about zero.

You know, it's funny. None of the articles I've linked at are saying that Campos was any kind of second shooter. They're all just quoting the union president saying that he knows what he's been told about Campos' whereabouts, but from what I've seen none of that has been verified.

Snopes has less than no credibility with me in any event, so they couldn't get lower in my eyes.

And the article from which I quoted the union president was from today and in it, Hickey is saying that is has been 4 days since he had last seen Campos.

Sure sounds like he's missing to me.

If I saw the insanity online with the bizarre theories floating around and was a target of the media, I'd hide out also.

Sounds like he just went off grid for a while, since he was likely stalked by both the real media and the crazies. How could anyone blame him? Smart move IMO.

I walk with a cane regularly. I use my cane on the side of my injury. I think it depends on several factors. Injury type, location, preference etc...

If Campos' version of events is true and he really got shot before the massacre started, he could be feeling extremely guilty for not doing more to stop him.

He was on that floor listening to the barrage of gunfire the whole time and wasn't able to stop it. He certainly looks like he has been through something traumatic in the couple pictures released.

Maybe, just maybe he is just an innocent man and feels overwhelmed by all this hero talk. He didn't save anyone, and he knows it and doesn't want to be a token hero.

What about his family? The last couple days i thought they were just saying he was fine and didn't want to talk. It was the union who have been trying to track him down. And what about the cops? Shouldn't they be interested in his whereabouts since he is such an important "witness".

If he's innocent i hope he survives all this. If he's guilty i hope the truth comes out. There are hundreds of amatuer and professional investigators trying to figure this out.

This is a huge red flag to the MSM that something fishy is going on. They need to do their jobs for once and put the heat on these officials.

What's the average pay rate for a security guard in Vegas? $13 and change per hour. That's the middle, anyway. Some rates are as low as $11 and change, some as high as $16 and change.

No offense to the media, the CT community, or families of anybody hurt or killed, but I sure as # wouldn't be eager to get in front of a camera for that kind of paycheck.

Exactly. That's why no one would even suspect when he went to the Caribbean on the FBI(taxpayers) dime. He's now in a safehouse in Nassau where no one making $11/hr would be.

I think everybody can assume that Campos is being held somewhere against his will. Back in 1995 a media Outlet pay Jennifer Flowers $200,000 for an interview about her affair with President Clinton. You would think that Campos would jump at that kind of money.

And from the Fox News version of this story:

“He is a victim in this and we don’t discuss victims,” Las Vegas Police Officer and Spokesman Larry Hadfield told Fox News on Tuesday.

Hadfield said the department is not planning on holding any future press conferences, absent the development of new details.

Shut up, stop asking questions, and move along.

So is he a victim, or is he a hero?

If the official timeline is to be believed, he is a victim in this tragedy. If that is the case, why was he awarded this



All the shooting was over with by the time police arrived on the floor on which we are told this took place.

Stephen Schuck was also in the hallway and from this transcript of his conversation with his supervisor, we can see that police dispatch at least knew where the action was:

Schuck: It’s at the end of the hallway I can’t tell you what room. He looked like he fired down the hallway when I got close to the door.

Schuck: Security is up here … 100 hallway don’t go …

And none of the above addresses this:

Control reports that Mandalay Bay security confirms shots fired on floors 29 and 32.
Officer reports his team is emerging on the 32nd floor by the “dead officer.”
Officer reports that a security guard on the 32nd-floor has also been shot by the suspect.

I know that stories change as new facts are learned. The problem I have is that the facts seem to be changing to match a story.
