Yeah...I did that too.
As a matter of fact my name is currently, right this very minute orbiting the Moon on the LRO ( that's the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter to you laypeople).
A bit extravagant, I know, but I'm worth it.

Me too! Totally worth it!

I wrote my name in some snow once.
It's probably not there anymore.

DNA might be.

Phage, you should know better. The energy you exerted on that snow has not disappeared it has merely changed. That snow has melted and become water. Had you used a bare hand perhaps a portion of your dna was shed there. That snow melted and became water. Along with that water perhaps a portion of your DNA. Your DNA may have been re-purposed into another living organism. A blade of grass, an ant or who knows maybe another human being at this point. Some of That water could be raining on the plains of Africa, gently rolling down an elephant's behind as we speak.....

Oh great! Now in some arid city, it slowly starts to rain, and some poor kid outside catching rain drops in their mouth now has your DNA in them. Think of the children, why doesn't anyone think of the children?

Phage, is this not the loss of Mass via radiation? In other words, Mass is converted to energy and by works of physics beyond me bends the laws of the very grey fog that is quantum mechanics and "escapes."

I also must comment.... Did Stephen Hawking propose that black holes convert objects that are captured from our dimension into 2 dimensional hairs along the event horizon?

www.sciencealert.com...
So matter passing through the event horizon is sort of like the old cartoons where one of the cartoon characters runs through a wall and the resulting hole in the wall is the same shape and size as the cartoon character running, leaving the information on the wall (event horizon) of not only the size and shape of what passed tbrough but also that the object its self was moving its individual parts (arms legs) as well.
