He wasn't booed off stage, well from the video I watched. Sure, it looks like his joke fell flat but he wasn't booed off. He tried to introduce the next act, or speaker, or w/e, but he didn't have the card to tell who was up next. Then he said thank you very much and the audience clapped.

Perhaps. He wasn’t “escorted off stage” because of audience upheaval, however.
