I'm going to give you a recipe for a pie that's beyond the realm of pie.

It should be called "Death by Pie' - but it's name is 'Butter Pie'.

So easy to make and it's tragically good. Surely something to make for Holidays only - unless you're feeding a Sumo Wrestler!

Make a pie shell. Don't cook it.

Mix 4 egg (yolks only) with 2 cans sweetened condensed milk, 2 tsp vanilla - combine well.

In another bowl combine 4 cups brown sugar (packed) and 6 TBS flour.

Mix the dry with the wet slowly until well combined.

Pour into the pie shell (mine was a 10" plus) and dot the top with 2 sticks - 1 cup - cubed COLD butter chunks.

Cook at 350 until the outside is brown and the inside is 'like jelly'. (An hour plus a few minutes was my time).

When cool refrigerate.

Serve with cream or ice cream.

I added the pie dough lace on top but the original recipe doesn't have it.

I also sprinkled the top of mine with granulated white sugar just for fun.

It is - Pie from heaven for sure.

Enjoy!!!

I was told this was butter pie .... where is the butter?

My poor pancreas curled up and died from reading that!

It looks good though.

After all is poured into the shell you cube a 1 cup COLD butter atop the pie before going in the oven.

It's so rich, unreal rich...but worth it.

And such an easy pie to make!

I hope you try it and if you do please share pics and your opinion!

I am not even going to try that pie. It would be gone in a day between me and the wife. It sounds great, too great. I have no self control with things like that. I am going to pretend I never read that.

I'll be back copying the recipe tomorrow morning I suppose.

When I said 'Death by Pie' I meant it.

It's diabolical.

And so delicious I should not have even shared it!

I imagine it's very good, but I am not a huge sweet tooth.

It is exactly the kind of thing my family would really like though. I'd make it for them and watch them enjoy it. Understand, you're talking to someone who thinks sugar cookies are too sweet.

More like sugar pie, lol.

Four cups of sugar plus two cans of sweetened condensed milk and only a 1/3cp flour? Wow.

Yeah, sugar pie.

Death by Pie is correct, however. Diabetes just waiting to happen, lol..
But it does look delicious.

Nothing wrong with a treat like that enjoyed in small doses at infrequent intervals. It's when it becomes a regular thing that you've got a real problem.

Nothing wrong with much of anything in moderation.

I'm not big on sweets, either, though. Too much added sugar in everything already. :/
