I believe they took what was aesthetically pleasing to them. They wouldn't taking on this new religion just like that and so simply. When the Vikings worshiped their gods, they did so with ceremony. With sacrifices at solstices and equinoxes.

Thanks for the update well done indeed, some folks seemed to be on point here a pg or two back,especially with the mirroring, but a time line of 500yrs difference is huge.
