Funny... Trump has been caught lying time and again. He has had many breach of contract suits filed against him. Now that he is a national figure, his lies are being called out. Of course, he has First Amendment rights, too. Too bad he is making such poor use of them.

Correct, he has the right to say anything, but I am sure you you will punish him in some manner when he lies, just like the MSM needs to be punished when they lie. After punishment, they can indeed choose to lie some more, and be punished again for doing so, and all of this happens without any harm to their first amendment rights. See how that works now?

You are confusing a broadcasting station with a network. Networks do not require licensing, broadcasting stations do. The NBC Network does not have a license. Each of its many affiliate stations (including its owned stations) has its own license.

It's disappointing to see so many people who think Trump is doing this with the intention of helping the public be better informed. To me it sounds like he intends to control what people see and hear. The media is easy to distrust, but so is Trump. He wants to control the narrative, he wants media to push his agenda, and maybe you agree with that agenda, but it's replacing propaganda with more propaganda. It's the old "fox guarding the hen house" cliche on crack.

This feels like one of those things that people could only support out of tribalism, if it was Obama doing this Trump supporters would see it for what it is, but since it's their guy all reasonable distrust of the government disappears. It's ok for the government to become totalitarian if it's in favor of our side. We used to be against the government trying to control and shape our minds, but throw out a buzzword like "fake news" and people demand they take over.
