Glad to hear your going third party from now on?

I'd prefer to go tar, feathers, and pitchforks and clean out the entire stable manually.

Libertarians had a real shot and then they nominated an establishment idiot named Gary Johnson.

Still...him and Jill Stein and the Constitution(thanks to Glen Beck and a few other conservative pundits) party candidate got more air time than third parties have gotten in a long time. The tides are turning. We have to get past the sell outs like Bernie Sanders and Ted Cruz (Who used to be considered the most libertarian Republican in Congress. lol) etc. We're making headway. We all know we want change. Obama and Trump both campaigned on it and won with that ideal. Although we didn't get hte change we wanted with either.

I'm tickled #less. My side won. We sent the liberals packing.

Yes, your side won. And now they celebrate by being angry every day, about every little thing the liberals do and say.

And our side wins a little bit, every time.

It's a funny world.

And if you wish to believe that, all the better. BTW, liberals make me smile. Sometimes I squint, but mostly smile.

Independents and Centrists have no voice in this country. Independent and Centrist rationality is drowned out by the extreme clamor of the right and left... So why bother?

Makes us the swing vote.
THAT'S why it matters. Also why one should vote. Why let the radicals decide?

To me? Someone who doesn't, even refuses to, identify with the Republican or Democrat party. Anyone who votes Republican or Democrat is NOT an Independent as far as I am concerned.

And why not ?
Ya think Independents only vote Independent ?

Independent

free from outside control; not depending on another's authority.

I damn well hope that clarifies things for ya.

I didn't say that many who CLAIM to be Independent didn't vote for the major parties; I was asked "What I thought" an Independent was, so I gave him what I CONSIDER to be an Independent. If one is beholden to the Republican or Democrat stance, i.e mainstream, how can they straight facedly claim to be Independent?

Your claim is perfectly apt and on target. Independent means not only apart from the Democrats and Republicans, but also, standing apart from either of their easily recognizable dogmas, which, you will notice, isn't happening on the part of anyone who has claimed to be Independent here.

I guess I got to spell it out for you.
Being an Independent MEANS you dont rely on any race , creed , origin , religion , etc AND political parties to tell you how to vote.
Independent
There is an Independent Party ( including Communist , Socialist , etc..) that provide other choices . I think that is what confuses folks. Especially folks not familiar with US politics for whatever reason . The Independent Party offers choices than the 2 major parties.
Appears you dont even have a dictionary to validate or refute even that most simplest of points.

LOL that’s funny.

Why don’t you link us to the Independent Party’s website then, genius?

Who was their last candidate?

What is their policy platform?

Ok , look up Jill Stein and Gary Johnson
That is all you have to do....
See what parties they belonged to . Yes , there have been Communist Party , Socialist Party , and even one "The Rent is Too Damn High" party candidates
They run in the Independent Parties as the Democratic and Republican Candidates are nominated by their respective parties.
An Independent voter is not necessarily aligned with any party. They vote their choice rather than registering as Republican or Democrat.
Now , I really hope you get it....
No more. I cant keep replying to someone that does not , nor will not , get a clue..

Stein - Green Party
Johnson - Libertarian Party

Both are registered parties when those candidates are on the Ballot they are not “independent.”

I know what an Independent is. You however do not.

You’re not talking about the Greens or Libertarians here.

it’s clear that for whatever reason you’re bordering on incoherence.

If you like to see actual images of actual ballots just type in “ballot president 2016” and look at images.

You are badly mistaken in your claims.
