Motive only matters when it furthers the narrative of the progressive ethos....

The motives of the DC sniper, baseball shooter and [possibly] Vegas gunman will all be washed aside because the killers did not adhere to the liberals twisted worldview...

The Vegas shooter’s target defines the motive...it’s elementary...it’s causality...it’s obvious

So..

1. No link to the article in question
2. You obviously didnt read the article or if you did you are doing what CT's do which is take something out of context to tell their narrative.
3. Sadly somehow your click bait OP has gotten 4 stars..

I don't even....

We also know from history that no policy ever gets changed. It doesn't matter who or why or how many.
You guys aren't interested in seeing an end to mass shootings. You guys sure aren't interested in why. Your only interest is in not having any laws about weapons. Your only issue is your biggest fear. That they will take away your guns. That is your only concern EVER! Who do you think you're kidding?

That's why they say don't judge a book by its cover.

You don't like the title of an article.

Your OP has no source, no significant quote from the article, merely a statement that you don't like the article and you think that CNN is disgusting.

But why, exactly? Paddock himself is dead of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Police are looking to find out if anyone knew of his plans ahead of time, but they have said he acted alone. There will be no criminal case against him. Learning his motivation won't bring back the dead or help heal the nearly 500 wounded.
close dialog

Does his motivation even matter? Why do we care so much about the motives of mass shooters?
The answer, according to experts in profiling mass shooters, is that we dig into the motive of mass killings to try to prevent future attacks, adjust policy and -- perhaps most of all -- satisfy our own human curiosity.

Gee, so that's why.

Then give us YOUR perfect solution. Do you actually have a real world, workable solution?.......or are we just going to hear more "Ban Guns!!" ?
sigh. I can't believe I have to point this out for the...thousandth?.. time. A gun ban in the U.S. will only take guns away from the LAW ABIDING [ see those 2 words? ] people who will willingly turn them over. Do you truly, honestly believe the gangbangers in Chicago will hand their's over?
Drug dealers?
How about MS13? Think they're going to go along?
How about all the gangs in Los Angeles?

Do you have some magic way to get all those guns off the street? No?
Huh. And here I thought you had a solution.

I know that. I made it very clear in my post that that claim came from CNN, not me. I even linked to a thread with that very subject. Stop lying.
It's good you agree with me though that CNN puts out "divisive crap".

Lol, anytime I see you post I'm sure to see the words "leftist" or "liberal" being used to describe who's at fault for any given issue.

Good job.

I read the article. It doesn't seem to say that motivation doesn't matter. On the contrary, it explores the motivation behind wanting to know the motivation.... why it matters to us.

It matters because most of us can't comprehend ever doing something like that.

Absolutely disgusting headline CNN asking Does motive even MATTER..?

Certainly mattered in the Roof shooting.

But since the Vegas shooting was a bunch of 'rednecks'.

It don't matter.

Right people ?

Wrong (as usual.)

The article doesn't say that. It's not about gun control or gun rights or anything along those lines.

It's tacitly about why people commit mass murder, but it doesn't even really address that. It's a fluff piece, very nearly, an editorial (opinion piece.)

Next.

So many shots fired, so many victims, so many casinos, so many questions, so few sensible answers. Given the radio-silence from the mainstream media and authorities on these key aspects of the attack, we can only tentatively suggest that diversion tactics were deliberately deployed to enable the shooters to get away. With Highway 91 just to the west of these venues, and McCarran International Airport literally next door on the west side, they could have been out of Las Vegas long before midnight. Meanwhile, the Fake News media that brought us Russiagate is sticking to the party line that Paddock was the sole perpetrator of all this mayhem. The phony gun control debate has kicked off again, while gun sales and the share prices of weapons manufacturers rise. And security firms are licking their chops at the prospect of legislation mandating backscatter machines (or other x-ray devices) at all casinos nation-wide. Maybe someone can give Mike Chertoff a call? But the bottom line is not just financial. With the emergence since Trump's election of a pronounced and visible division between the relatively conservative 'masses' and the relatively liberal 'elite' in the US, and with it coming just as US influence abroad wanes dramatically, what better way to stamp your authority on the herd than to terrorize it then 'protect' it by locking it down into ever-finer orders of control.

Yes it absolutely matters ! The piece written by Eric Levinson for CNN is quite lengthy and seems to try to influence just on the title wording alone.

Will American people sit back and accept this blatant title& article asking just accept no answers on this sad historical attack on it's people?

do you want all killers to write down their motive in times new roman for you before they do it? get over yourself. his motive was that he was crazy.

And if the MOTIVE turns out to be that Paddock just wanted to make a name for himself in American history, and law enforcement training schools...then what?

As a professional content writer, I have one question:

Did the headline get you to click?

Because that's the object of the game, whether we're talking about a news article, a blog, or whatever. The title is probably THE most important thing--if people aren't sucked in by the headline, they won't visit the page. If you clicked--whether you were intrigued, in agreement, or outraged by the headline--the hardest part of the writer's job was done.

Another question:
Did you actually read the article before you posted here (I haven't read it) or did you just post based on the headline?

You've heard the saying that war is hell? That has a lot of facets. It doesn't just mean for the people who are losing or the ones caught in the middle.
