The pirates of my mind

This is my story, the story of when I almost lost my mind
all because I had close encounters with the pirates
the pirates of the mind.
It all started one night when a shining bright light
entered my dream.
I was dreaming happily when I heard the whisper.
"Come, come fly with us," she said.
The voice was sweet and kind.
Come, come with us leave all that dross behind.
Who are you? who are us? I wondered.

"I am the captain, the captain of the free mind.
The crew are all happy sailors, we sing the songs divine."
mmmm gosh this sounded so sublime!
When do I get to see you?
"Not right now, but I'll pop in another time."
I awoke joyful like a child.
Yes this the way for me, I had no doubt.
All this adulthood, all this falsehood.
killing the spirit of the now.
Like ghosts floating in search for life.
Parasites sponging in the night.
My mind spun a trillion ideas
I fell in love.
For days and nights, I waited
but the captain did not return.
What a fool I had been,
a victim of my own fantasy.
Finally, I gave up,
back to reality.
I came down with a thump.
It was on that very night
the captain returned.
"Come, come with us "I heard.
"Welcome aboard the free mind."
There they stood the Captain and crew
I rushed up the ramp to board the ship.
But then I heard the word "gallows"
The fear running through me.
There I stood and completely frozen.
Behind them, I could see the hangman
tighten his ropes.
"what rubbish, what pose." I shouted
She turned to the crew
"Time to go, it's certain he knows"
I awoke full of joy
now I know
Everything is show
Where always free
to believe or let it just go.

The Show Time series Black Sails is the very best pirate stories I've ever seen. The homosexual part was a little weird but overall I think they got the way it was pretty accurate.

I think I met that woman once. She did not have a ship but she was seduction personified.

Not many know that route but she did, perfectly.

When it came time to be one with her absolutely or to choose Self, I chose Self. I know no other way.

However i still wonder about it.
