Las Vegas Shooter related...

...

Paddock's car, a 2017 Chrysler Pacifica Touring, was found in the hotel parking garage and contained 90 pounds of Tannerite and two suitcases filled with hundreds of rounds of ammunition, according to information provided by the source.

Authorities suspect the Tannerite was intended for use in target practice or to make the car explode if fired upon, according to information provided by the source.

The information from the source was derived from intelligence obtained earlier this week. Authorities have since said that the vehicle contained 50 pounds of Tannerite.
...

-CNN

Source

Okay, so you knew it was really 50 pounds when you wrote the article (if it was even that), but you still reported "90 pounds" anyway...and then revised it two paragraphs later. Just hoping someone wouldn't read that far.

Nothing like reporting something you know to be untrue, right?

Then you go out of your way to say...

So far, investigators have found no evidence supporting a claim by ISIS that Paddock had converted to Islam and carried out the attack on the terror group's behalf, according to the information provided by the source. Paddock's girlfriend, Danley, has been unable to provide a motive for the mass killing, according to the information.

...even though the introductory paragraph of your article says.....

In addition to his frequent forays into casinos and gun shops, Las Vegas strip killer Stephen Paddock took 20 cruises, many of them in Europe and the Middle East, investigators have learned.

No agenda here at all!! [/sarcasm] So if you distill these words down, what do you get?

"It's not really about the cruises, or the potential links to the middle east....it's really all about the guns and the Tannerite."

Even your title to your article says..."Las Vegas Shooter took 20 cruises, some to foreign ports

...yet only four paragraphs of your article focus on the cruises, and the remaining seven (of eleven) paragraphs have nothing to do with the cruises at all.

Damn Media.

Every single piece of garbage that gets spun by the media on a daily basis is the work of the social engineers. The media is the elites greatest weapon and focuses their good little subjects on whatever topic they wish, then they observe our reactions and get better at the next "story".

I am looking forward to roll out of the new body scanners/metal detectors everywhere!

It is best to have the prisoners build their own prison, is it not.

And if you take it even a step further, one could theorize from this article...

"It's not about the cruises, and it's not even about the shooter himself....it's just about the guns and the Tannerite"

Also notice how they got the spelling of the Tannerite right (even capitalizing it). They didn't try to describe what it was (likely because they don't know), but they made damn sure the manufacturer's name was spelled correctly...just in case anyone would like to sue.

So, the media reports crap and you're surprised?

What rock you been living under for the last 50 years?

It's nothing new indeed, but intentionally careless, agenda driven, crap like this needs to be pointed out and exposed for what it is.

You'd be stunned how many people believe CNN is actually a viable, unbiased, "news" source.

I'm not following. Are you saying because he took cruises to the Middle East, among other places, he was actually part of ISIS despite there being no current evidence to support this?

No, not saying that at all (and frankly I'm not even sure I buy it at all). What I am saying is, ...this is what CNN was trying to "bait" people into reading the article with...only to go forth and spew a bunch of crap, most of which is unrelated to the title of the article. Including some outright mis-truths.

That dooshbag shooter was ISIS.

I don't believe he was, despite their claims to the contrary.

Yeah, I don't think he was either, there just isn't any evidence at this point to compel me to believe he joined.

Did you happen to read this at the bottom:

This story has been updated to reflect additional information provided by a law enforcement source.

They updated the article one they received better information, which it seems logical to suggest they reported that the actual amount was in fact 50lbs, not 90lbs.

And I'm not sure how you can equate taking a cruise to the middle east as being somehow connected to ISIS or Islam.

I don't think the media is the problem here...

Yes, I did "happen" to read that.

So if they "updated" the article (and this was the reason), then why leave the erroneous information in it? Why not just strike it, and put the actual amount? Why, because they're playing people, that's why.

Regarding ISIS, did you "happen" to read my reply to AM, posted before your post? Simply put, I don't believe he was connected to ISIS, but this is what CNN used as the title to "bait" people into reading it.

And yes, I DO think the media is the problem...with a whole lot of things.

And lastly, you're a good example of why the media tactics work on so many...failure to read.

Playing people? How?

How can they be playing people when they are honest and leave the original information in the article and updated it once they got better information? If they took out the first figure, people would claim they were being dishonest and were removing info.

Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

Regarding ISIS, did you read my reply to AM? Simply put, I don't believe he was connected to ISIS, but this is what CNN used as the title to "bait" people into reading it.

The title said nothing about ISIS and the title is not "bait". It's an article giving a bit more information about the killer and his travels. Nothing more or less.

And yes, I DO think the media is the problem...with a whole lot of things.

In this case, I think you are making a huge deal out of nothing.

And lastly, you're a good example of why the media tactics work on so many...failure to read.

What did I fail to read? I read the article and I'm not seeing what you are seeing. I read your op and I was not the only one that was a bit confused as to what you were implying.

And what tactic worked so well on me, as to make me an example?

Seems to me you're just making crap up.

Ya, you did and it didn't make much sense. If you want to bash CNN or the media, at least have something legitimate to bitch about.

This is just...absurd.

he's not connecting the shooter to Isis
he's saying the article is indirectly doing so with the ME / cruise reference.
how does the media plant suggestions? 'Congressman Schmuckatelli was likely NOT the third person in the bust. repeat, NOT. apparently.'

And the article does not make any such connection, whether it be directly or indirectly.

Errors will be made when attempting to construct and control an evolving narrative. Especially when federal agents involved are controlling and containing virtually all information. The media devoid of any real journalism will always attempt to have exclusive information, from "sources" no one else has, whether real or not isn't that important.
