Disappearing thread?

Ok, can someone explain what happened here:

An hour or so ago--maybe an hour and a half, 4 or 4:30 central on 10/6, there was a thread here questioning whether Paddock was actually still alive and in...Atlantic City? I think. There were photos of the person in question (the "possible Paddock") purportedly taken by someone gambling at the same table, with comparison photos of the shooter himself.

The thread was only 2 pages long. I read through it, then read several other threads, then came back to refresh the page to see if anyone had added anything...and was taken to the front page of ATS. The thread is now gone. What happened?

Edit to add: It hasn't been moved to the HOAX bin. It's just gone.
