I don't want to step on America toes in the whole gun discussion - but events like today look like absolute insanity from the outside looking in. Why on earth is a citizen holed up in a hotel with 10 legally held guns? It's nuts.
Of course, you can counter this with talk of knives and terrorist bombs - but there's only one reason that 58 people are dead and 515 others are injured.
I'm sorry, you guys really need to have a think about this. It's notable that this only really happens with any regularity in one country.
My condolences to those affected.

My FB has opinions ranging from AntiFa claiming responsibility, to IS claiming responsibility, to this being a false flag government staged attack.

The evidence can point to whatever they want it to point to if it was indeed staged and I'm not saying it is. But to accept everything exactly as being stated in the first 24 hours is not a good idea especially with the track record of our officials. It's possible their narrative will continue to carry regardless and this was perfectly planned (again if staged). Sometimes we find holes other times we don't. The only people that know the truth are those directly involved and possibly first responders, sometimes not even them. I don't trust anything anymore, so many lies in the past 30 years one after another and everything smells bad.

Exactly. The Strip is pretty much an artificial canyon. Sound is going to do some pretty funny things in there. My guess is that those people who think they're hearing multiple shooters are just hearing an echo. This also explains why there were so many reports of shots fired at other casinos.

I agree.
I have heard ongoing (single shooter) automatic gunfire in a major city; the sound echoes off every building and can sound as if there are multiple firings from multiple places.
That's not to say there can't be multiples, but the above can certainly cause confusion in the moment of chaos.

It smells terrible. But look at all the people claiming not to trust the government; eating up the official story.

I wonder if the reports about cameras in the room are accurate and what are the odds that they will be released to quell suspicion?

I bet in that situation he wasn't caring about the costs. He planned his suicide, you don't care about costs when you never have to pay possible loans back, because you are dead.
I suppose that would be true - it's not something I ever really considered!

Please post the source that shows these were legally held guns.

Yes, because waiting for further confirmation regarding an incident in which 500+ people injured rather than wildly speculate means we are "eating up the official story."
Done with ATS for the day. Absolutely unreal, man.

They claim the shooter had cameras set up to record himself. Isn't that convenient?
