I'm late getting to this but I have to say that this is absolutely horrific! Although, in this day and age of people just being stupid, it doesn't surprise me. When I heard about the shootings this morning from my Stepfather (who was watching Headline News, my mind immediately went to the mass shooting at that Florida club.

To those who were injured, I pray for a safe recovery and to those who were lost (except for the idiotic shooter), I offer my prayers for the victims.

If it's not a Muslim then just go with an anti-Trumper, they're basically the same thing anyways, right? Win win.

We're discussing the possibilities.
Don't expect people to limit the possibilities.

I really think that this was a premonition. It was powerful enough to cause a woman and her friends to leave the concert.

there was a guy being interviewed...him and his wife were supposed to go to all three days....the last night she did't feel good and insisted on not going...so he agreed with her..he tried to gives their wrist bands to his son then his son in law....none went

tony...the killer killed himself

I only just caught this after work. The BBC are criticising Trump for not addressing gun control. So lame... Also, that makes me smell a conspiracy.

Whatever the BBC report is usually the scheduled narrative...

I bet in that situation he wasn't caring about the costs. He planned his suicide, you don't care about costs when you never have to pay possible loans back, because you are dead.

I suppose that would be true - it's not something I ever really considered!

I suppose the argument is that the resulting sound provides ample warning to others to take cover. But of course, that really didn't apply to this situation. Those people were fish in a barrel. It didn't matter what they might of heard.

That would be a really dumb argument to make....Those people didn't have any chance other than to run....An elevated shooter over an open field with no cover....well that's even more deadly than a fatal funnel.....

I thoughts are with the victims and their families....

Exactly. The Strip is pretty much an artificial canyon. Sound is going to do some pretty funny things in there. My guess is that those people who think they're hearing multiple shooters are just hearing an echo. This also explains why there were so many reports of shots fired at other casinos.

He's been doing this for hours, probably because he doesn't like the direction the evidence is pointing. There just has to be some angle we can use to attack Trump!

FBI says no known connection to ISIS.

My FB has opinions ranging from AntiFa claiming responsibility, to IS claiming responsibility, to this being a false flag government staged attack.

I'm honestly a bit estranged at the moment.... people wonder why I want to leave the US.

I've been to Vegas, more than a few times, I know the area. My boss had someone very close to her affected... I'm just at a loss of words and emotions.

This # needs to end.

You don't know any more than I do, laughable that you claim to know exactly what happened here.

I haven't claimed anything of the sort. But none of the evidence thus far points to a 2nd shooter. Find something else to make # up about, we don't need any of that here.

Nah. The Facebook-educated experts are on the case already and have blown it wide open. Lucky us. *eyeroll*

In a rapid-fire situation, surrounded by multiple vertical surfaces (buildings), it would be almost impossible to differentiate the sound of echoes from the sound of multiple weapons. Not to mention I have heard several eye-witnesses say he was "spraying," which would contribute to the echo factor as the weapon created sound waves in continually-varying directions.

When people are dying and no one knows details it is best not post uncertainties.

They really should ease off the "known to law enforcement" tag. Pretty much everyone who has gotten a speeding ticket is "known" to law enforcement. So far there's no evidence the guy had any criminal record. Leaving that tag all over the coverage and not explaining it misleads people.

But who am I kidding? It's the media.

The suspected gunman behind the Las Vegas massacre made several large gambling transactions in recent weeks, according to law enforcement officials.

The transactions in Las Vegas by Stephen Paddock were in the tens of thousands, the officials said.

It was not immediately clear if those transactions were losses or wins.

Hmm. Desperation....?

Who, at any age, wants to go out this way?

People that are willing to do this type of thing, at any age, have reached a state beyond logic. Trying to apply logic to understand their decisions doesn't really get you anywhere.

True.

As I've said before, people sometimes get so desperate in their (perceived) pathetic lives, strive so much for recognition and importance, and want to be remembered for something, anything while blaming the "others" for their ills, that they can do horrific things simply to be remembered.

Of course, there is always a catalyst. Question is, what?

Gambling debts/losses? High living beyond one's means? Gambling away retirement?

I'd ignore ISIS entirely. They'd claim a car backfiring as a "Soldier of the Caliphate".

Pathetic chancers.
