Fishy as hell. The truth may be very different from the story given.

This is an odd one - almost as if he may have been coerced but somehow got word to someone to issue a warning without the people holding him finding out?

I'm very highly curious as to the woman who was screaming "you're all going to die" in particular the phrase "THEY'RE all around us"...note the THEY which appears to preclude the single gunman scenario (if she was correct of course) and it doesn't sound like she was the alleged "perps" wife or gf or whoever, but she sure seemed to know something was going on and was going to happen by "them". Seems an odd statement to make. Be interesting indeed to see if any more comes to light about this woman in the near future

Seriously, am I the only one here who knows that gun stores and hotels take credit cards?

Guys, the cost to pull this off is a non-issue.

To me, it'll be interesting to see what the surveillance inside the hotel shows.

BUT....

Here's an article from 2013 that talks about how few hotels in Vegas have cameras beyond the lobby and casino areas.

That might have changed, and I can't imagine they'd broadcast "hey we installed cameras all over the hotel resident areas" but it's an interesting point.

Why would it be questionable? Obviously this was well-planned. At some point he figured out that after he shot a certain direction for long enough people would flee so he would have to fire a different direction.

Ever go on a rampage in GTA? How often do you only shoot in 1 direction?

How many directions do the windows in that room face? I'm guessing they are pretty much all in the same direction. Given the elevation and distance to his targets. Moving 12 feet to the left or right has little to no effect on field of view.

Here you can see the fields of view from these 2 windows would be quite different. They are pretty far apart, so he either rented a large suite or he rented 2 adjacent rooms that had those little doors you can go between rooms without going out in the hall. Having been to Vegas (someone correct me if I'm wrong here), the suites tend to be high up in the hotel so you get a nice view for your money, so I'd guess it's one large suite. Obviously the guy didn't have to worry about how much it cost to get that suite.

Is this the room layout? Two rooms?

How much a suite like that cost in Vegas? Just try to put together how much this plan cost him? All the guns, the suite for days, knowing what room/rooms he need for the correct view etc. Hell of a planning for the ordinary 64 years old....

Especially if he took the option for a second room:

People that are willing to do this type of thing, at any age, have reached a state beyond logic. Trying to apply logic to understand their decisions doesn't really get you anywhere.

Does anyone who knows about guns more than me know can you effectively put a silencer on an automatic gun of the caliber that people think was used?

Due to the risk of assaults(physical/sexual) and theft I'd assume most hotels would cover main hallways/runways and elevator areas.

Now, the odds of ever seeing it may be slim to none, but I'd assume it would exist.

Yeah, the facial structure matches somewhat - hard to tell for sure with one pic in a hat and the other not.

Silencers can be put on almost any gun. But how long they last or are effective depends on the rate of fire, right? A constant firing could quickly ruin a sikencer.

1. Silencers do no mute the sound, they lower it by about 30 db.
2. running lots of rounds thru one will melt it down quickly.
