As I said in an earlier post. There is something not quite right about this attack.
Guy 64, has gambling debts
Who at 64 wants to leave this world this way
Rents a room and he is there for 5-6 days
Has a room mate - what, who & where are they
Couple thrown out of concert for going round telling people to leave or they will be killed 45 mins before shooting starts
Shooting happens to start at the last song
The so called shooter offs himself? Convenient
Multiple gunfire heard in videos
500 shot

Fishy as hell. The truth may be very different from the story given.

I find the concept of 2 shooting platforms for 1 shooter to be a bit questionable.

Hopefully we get more(and better) info as this gets pieced together.

Why would it be questionable? Obviously this was well-planned. At some point he figured out that after he shot a certain direction for long enough people would flee so he would have to fire a different direction.

Ever go on a rampage in GTA? How often do you only shoot in 1 direction?

How many directions do the windows in that room face? I'm guessing they are pretty much all in the same direction. Given the elevation and distance to his targets. Moving 12 feet to the left or right has little to no effect on field of view.

Here you can see the fields of view from these 2 windows would be quite different. They are pretty far apart, so he either rented a large suite or he rented 2 adjacent rooms that had those little doors you can go between rooms without going out in the hall. Having been to Vegas (someone correct me if I'm wrong here), the suites tend to be high up in the hotel so you get a nice view for your money, so I'd guess it's one large suite. Obviously the guy didn't have to worry about how much it cost to get that suite.

Is this the room layout? Two rooms?

Looking at that layout - it would appear that particular room would end before the second window - furthest from the edge of the building...

Theres another I just posted but I agree

I keep hearing he used Tripods. Would that not narrow down the list of guns capable of being mounted on a tripod? I feel like a bipod would be more likely what was used. Plus, it seems to me would be difficult to successfully hit targets at that angle with a tripod, plus the footprint size on a tripod would make it hard also. Not an expert here either though.

It's entirely possible they were bipods and the media is just calling them tripods because most of them have very little gun culture knowledge. It wouldn't be the first time they misreported something.

Either way, with this kind of planning, suffice to say it would be fairly easy to get something to support his gun on no matter which particular weapon he chose.

How much a suite like that cost in Vegas? Just try to put together how much this plan cost him? All the guns, the suite for days, knowing what room/rooms he need for the correct view etc. Hell of a planning for the ordinary 64 years old....

Is there even any evidence the named suspect did any of this shooting? How do we know he wasn't delivered dead to the room, his fingerprints put on the weapons, and the real shooters extracted?

IMO there were at least two professional shooters, probably foreigners.

Anything to base that on or just y'know...conspiracy?

Not the op to your response but...

ISIS saying that their soldier converted when he was 30 and came from Mesquite, this guy being 64 and coming from there, they gave out his converted name apparently. Conflicting stories of course, but it isn't beyond the realms of possibility that a terrorist followed this guy, got a room close by, killed him, did the act and left to kill another day.

Or it might be nothing of the sort, or he could be a muslim himself, or he could be a right/left wing nut job or a simple psychopath

So I guess conspiracy is the answer, no one but ISIS have claimed him so far though, so it is being investigated.

But an old guy converting without anybody knowing?

I would say that's a good match. It appears to me to be him and Marilou at an anti-Trump rally. The NASA shirt also adds credibility since he lived on the "space coast" of Florida before moving there.

Not sure - here is the best comparison from the video. Some similar facial structures but can we really be sure????

The mouth is the same.

If it isn't him, that's his doppelganger.

it seems that they heard the gunshots, but didn't indentify them as gunshots, more than likely what tipped them off was the people who began noticing people falling after being shot.

His brother claims he knew of no cache of rifles.

Seeing reports dude had major gambling debts.

So then how does he afford "in excess of 10 rifles"???

Credit cards. We promote poor spending practices in this country, but that's another topic.

www.msnbc.com...

Spending big money in vegas ($10K+ transactions).

Supposedly new cache of automatic / modified / upgraded rifles possibly $10K+ pricetag.

I dont imagine those fancy pance rooms were cheap.

Then there's the magazines, the ammo to train, the ammo for the event, other nickel and dime equipment involved.

Then theres the logistics, on the road costs, supposedly managed to get both of his vehicles on site.

Oh, and multiple cameras on tripods in the room to tape it all.....

I mean he might have gotten a stage 4 cancer diagnosis and said 'F it', but for some retired guy thats serious loot he's dropping. Could have won a bunch of money. Could have lost a bunch of money. Hmm..........
