Less than tobacco, alcohol, illness and medication abuse.

Nice deflection, again, it's ok to be wrong.

Ahh, ok, so 11000 plus deaths a year is fine by you and an acceptable loss for your 2nd amendment rights. Are you actually insane.

Last average I checked a year or so ago, you had around 11 thousand killed by firearms (homicide or self defense) and about 20 thousand by suicide, in a country of 330+ million people.

and more than 450,000 annual deaths just from cigarettes.

I am going to guess that you have not visited the US very often.

We have a culture problem in some segments of our society, people that think gang life is a great thing to aspire to. (by the way this is not limited to just one ethnic group)

We have a public education problem in the US, that ties directly to the gang problem in many areas.

We have a family problem in the US, several studies have shown that people join gangs to get that sense of family they do not get at home.

Also we have 200+ years of firearms ownership, how exactly do you plan to get all the guns and keep mexican cartels from shipping guns into the US, because there would be a market and they could make a ton of money off it.

So passing legislation would not accomplish much for a decade at least in a perfect world.

This. This is a tragedy but the rush to politicize it already is embarassing. They did an "assault weapons" ban in the 90s, for 10 years. It had zero impact on gun death rates. There are other factors that influence most of this activity.

Yep.

And ABC just said he was a licensed hunter.

He had the know-how and the clean record.

He was just flat crazy.

it's got to get there first, as it travels further it not as deadly, more likely to wound instead of kill. this guy intended to kill not likely to bring a small sub machine for that distance if he knew anything about guns.

Ignorant comment. If guns weren't available people just commit murder by other means. There is no correlation in the data between gun availability and homicide rates.

Keep on posting and losing the argument. 40,000 die in motor vehicle accidents. Should we ban those?

Crazy story. 50+ dead and 400 last I checked. I would LOVE to know where this guy(s) got an M249 or equivalent. I have a hard time believing this isn't a false flag of sorts. I didn't read every post, but for those calling for gun bans, fully automatic weapons are strictly regulated. Prayers to those affected by this.

Crimals exist.
The Black Market exists.
The Deep Web exists..

The thing about being a criminal is you don't care about rules or regulations and you can get anything you want if you are willing to pay the right price....

Thomas Paine‏ @Thomas1774Paine 1h1 hour ago

Police source confirms #LasVegas Shooter had approx 8 rifles and two shooting tripods in his hotel room.

New York Post‏Verified account @nypost 11m11 minutes ago

The Las Vegas gunman reportedly lived in an upscale retirement community and was not a military veteran

also seeing reports on twitter stating the man was known to law enforcement. He apparently received a citation at some point so not sure what "known to law enforcement means" Also not confirmed by any media sources as of yet.

Also for those discussing distance -

Most Muslims don't kill for their God either yet there are a few who do. How is it any different?

Yet they are commanded to, by the example and words within their books of their false prophet and don`t make out its just a few. Many moderate Muslims support Jihadists and acts of terrorism world wide. But its a good thing most don`t follow Mohammad's words and example, though because of this they can be seen as Hypocrites, which can also bring the death sentence, so the death cult rolls on.

You`ve made the most Islamic comments in this thread yet badger on as though its mostly related to the topic under the guise of your enlightened among a pack of half wits, on what a follower of Islam is or isn`t. The massacres done from Mohammad and those that profess to follow him ranges toward 250,000,000 non Muslims killed, countless women taken used for wives or sex slaves, the slave trade of the Africans, lands stolen and its said that they kill 2-1 of their own compared to non Muslim. Which is still raging today.

My first thought upon hearing this was Islamic terrorism, I read and listened to the info coming in and it didn`t strike me as Islamic and said so. Yet you continue to waffle on as though its relevant, it isn`t. So while you like to believe this massacre proves your position, it doesn`t.
