I still think there is some disagreement on the public communication plan. But this particular news conference was one of the most revealing.

They were clearly impressed by the scale of the preparation. The are pursuing leads nationally and internationally. Clearly they think more people were likely involved. Trump's statements today clearly indicate they already know much more, and his reaction to whatever that is makes me think it's something really big.

Amen. Fully realizing that they don't have unlimited human resources. Just going through the videos is going to take time as will the forensics. It's not a two hour movie...this is real.

Also a thanks to all that are reporting the new info from the press conference. I haven't been able to spend the time to watch these.

By now, I imagine they have watched a substantial portion, if not all, of the casino video. They're likely chasing every contact he had in the casino over the few days before the event. And based upon the recent news conference, I'd say they found some important things.

Anyone else see the video that Paddock was a fan of Country, so why would he shoot it up? He also was an avid concert goer.

This, to me, does not make sense as an IS related event, at least, not in the sense of their command chain being in any way aware of the event before it happened, or indeed the perpetrator doing what he did as a result of some affinity with that organisation or its mindset or beliefs system.

Neither the precise methodology, nor the fact that he killed himself without taking out some police or SWAT officers at the same time (for example, with an explosive vest, or ensuring that they killed him, rather than take him alive), match either precisely or even vaguely, the modus operandi which would most readily lend itself to a connection with any known religiously motivated terrorist outfit.

However, if this man was involved with private companies within the MIC and had connections within the private military contracting sector (which is pretty much the only way you get to own a plane formerly used by such an organisation), that does raise some serious questions about what role he had within that context, where he has been, what he has done in his life, what he has seen in his life. The part of his life we know nearly nothing about, is almost certainly the part which has the best chance of explaining how he came to be in a room full of guns, shooting down at largely unarmed people for what seems like no actual reason.

Although I doubt that this man is in the same bracket of threats as the western backed proxy army which is ISIS, I have serious suspicions, based on the direction in which this investigation is going and the details released so far, that this mans actions may result from something he saw or became aware of, while in the orbit of the MIC, something which made him doubt himself, his nation, the people he was working with and for. Do I think he was asked to do this? No. Do I think he was induced deliberately to do this? No, there is no evidence which would suggest that much as of yet, although its perfectly possible. Do I think that this mans past and a full examination of it, will reveal what really is going on here? Absolutely.

There is no proof that he was the shooter. He is dead and he was in the room. That is all we have in reality at this time.

A fair point. I have not seen the GSR test which confirms his hands were in contact with any of the weapons, including the one which killed him, on the day in question.

But we are unlikely to see the result of that test, because such things are next to never released in ANY case, to the public via the press. Autopsy records, the results of police forensic examinations are nearly never released in any granular format, to the public, save as talking points bought up by officials, and recorded by reporters.

You never see video of the tests being performed, you never see evidence of the purity of the chain of evidence, its only sticky tape and the word of any forensics specialist, evidence vault manager, mortician, investigating body, that things are as they say they are in ANY criminal investigation.

Here is a vantage point of some people in a bus stop in front of the Hotel away from all the carnage, they talk about seeing and hearing the glass being smashed out, with clear sound of the gun shots, after all the auto firing, oddly i heard a single gun shot then silence and thought this was the one that he use on himself or someone else shot him, but a short time after that there is another single shot?

A bus for some reason is allowed into that zone passed police and they get on, telling the bus driver there is a shooter and telling the people not to get off.

What we see now can also be tacktics from the investigation.

If there is more to this... It might be a good thing not to leak all information.

Others who could be involved would feel a sense of security if the story stays as is.

Perhaps metal detectors are a good start.

Might be a really basic and stupid question so forgive me but do Vegas hotels have cleaners? If he checked in a few days before would cleaners not have gone in the room to make the beds and give clean towels? If so, surely they would have noticed 33 guns laying around?

As mentioned toward the top of the thread, you can request no room service for the duration of your stay if you so please, without comment or query from the staff of most of these big hotels.
