She must be quite the beauty then! I have had all black cats before. I have had so many that I rescued or got from shelters...so many beautiful lives that I got to share mine with.

The respect you showed this "being" is remarkable.
We too soon give up when we don't get a "positive" response, I believe that is due to pride. "Well if they don't like me it is their loss". We think we are superior and deserve their homage.
I have dealt with "neglected" animals. Dogs, horses, cats. To gain their trust is a humbling experience.
