EXCLUSIVE: Fellow Puerto Rico Mayor Rips San Juan Mayor — ‘She’s Not Participating In Any Meetings’

The mayor of Guaynabo, Puerto Rico cast serious doubt Saturday on the claims made by San Juan Mayor Carmen Yulin Cruz, who has repeatedly attacked President Trump and accused him of abandoning Puerto Rico in the aftermath of Hurricane Maria.

Guaynabo’s mayor, Angel Perez, said in an interview with The Daily Caller that his experience with the federal government has been different from Cruz’s, in part because — unlike Cruz — he has been participating in meetings with officials from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and other federal agencies

Not just because of a tweet that seems to be more truthful as more info comes out from the disaster area.

Who is playing partisanship now?

P.S. speaking from a person who actually has experience with hurricane damage let me point out what should be obvious. The roads are impassable. They can't clear the roads that fast. They need more trucks. The trucks need gasoline. They have no gas or electricity to pump it. There's only so much a person can do with a chain saw. If the trucks can't get in to haul away the debris how do they advance? It's a piece by piece clean up at this point because the island was pretty much flattened. Every hand available won't be enough. Oh yeah and it's in the tropics which are hot and humid and full of mosquitoes too. Just in case you forget the conditions they have to work under.

No. They have the trucks, they have the fuel, the roads are passable. Drivers are not turning up to help and the organisation of people like the mayor is a shambles. She's not even turning up to logistics planning meetings, instead she is grandstanding on TV for political purposes. Her goose is cooked, now the truth is getting through the media propaganda she is complicit in pushing.

FYI, you don't get to be excluded from the authority of the office of the US Presidency if you are a US Citizen in a US Governed Territory just because you don't like who is currently holding the office title.

It seems her real priority is to push an Anti-American agenda.

PR is part of America

What part of her shirt is troubling to you?

Last I checked, there are fifty states in the USA and PR is not one of them.

Besides, some actual state officials are anti-america amd have gone so far as to propose secession like in Texas and California. So your point is invalid.
Well it's a territory yet it's exempt from us taxes abd ironically Obamacare. Peter Schiff wrote a fascinating article on the economic problems of PR

The part in which the Mayor of Puerto Rico is not even attending meetings to coordinate efforts... The part where even Puerto Ricans like the female police officer, who cannot give her name because the witch for mayor in Puerto Rico will take revenge on this police officer, tells the truth about the witch passing as Mayor of Puerto Rico and the BS the Mayor is allowing to occur in the island...

The Mayor is not making any efforts to distribute the aid being sent to Puerto Rico... But we've got idiots making threads in the mud pit, and the mob of idiots that star such BS threads show that a large percentage of people don't give a crap about the truth of what is happening in Puerto Rico...

Huh. I wonder why the IRS collected $3.5 billion from Puerto Rico in 2015 if it''s exempt from US taxes.

She's the mayor of a city. San Juan. Not the mayor of Puerto Rico. But yes, it's ridiculous that anyone on either side is playing politics with this.

LOL!!! And just know this.....that Trump has a big weather mecheen and he ordered PR attacked by large wind monster. I mean we know what the weather folks called it but the mecheen guys call it Alfred Newman.

So people are dying and without homes and her T-shirt is what people think is important??

You don't need electricity to screen print a shirt, and sometimes something simple, even a couple of words, can make someone take notice.

If that's important, then how can Trump go golfing while people are dying? What about that?

You support an incompetent right wing dolt. So you have to deal with the fact that this is the worst presidency in US history.

Do that yourself. It's the difference between and educated and informed person vs. a right wing cultist.

Why don't you look up the quotes from our military generals that have worked on natural disasters from the past. Pay attention to the real news, not right wing propaganda.

Actually, the better question is that FEMA does have a disaster relief plan and why we didn't follow it for PR?

It is misdirected outrage.

Why didn't they have plans and preperations in place well ahead of time?

Why didn't Obama or Bush already have standing emergency plans in place?

What makes you say we didn't follow it?
Stop believing in the fake media, seekingalpha.

Why don't you provide them if you think they are relevant to this situation.

Tell me exactly what else he could be doing that isn't being done now?

Give me a real answer seekingalpha.

Right wing cultist? You are one trying to make this a right v left issue, grow up, this is not the mudpit.

Deal with it, bro.

Correction, WE have to deal with it, he's your president too, lol.

Does Trump being a Russian puppet mean that Putin made Trump issue sanctions against his own country?

Interesting tidbit of info
one of our customers is dealing with some coordination efforts for shipping food and supplys to PR. He said a lot of stuff (food and the like) is just sitting in the harbor..seems there is pretty much no gas to get the stuff shipping across the island.

Correct, and that's another area where Trump screwed up. You can't deliver goods by truck when there's no roads and no fuel supply line. A carrier group would have had ample helicopters to deliver goods. Alternatively, they could have been air dropped out of Florida, just as we've used in the past to supply troops.

Instead, they're unloading goods at the ports, and the ports can't ship those goods anywhere.

If we had an actual military response, we would have been able to move those goods.

The whole thing makes about as much sense as Puerto Rico helping DC when they have a snow storm.

Why? Puerto Rico is pretty much on par with every single state in the US. It wouldn't be tolerated if California had a major earthquake and we refused to help them. Why is a piss poor response in Puerto Rico acceptable?
