Everybody is triggered that the post said "non-exisent nazis" lol.

Look, I am right wing, and I know that there are Nazis and things like that.

So let's shut them down. Let's oppose trolling. Because we are totally going to get rid of hateful people right? Shutting down speech makes scary ideas go away!

That totally seems legit guys.

I've seen a few of her videos on YouTube, and I like her for the most part.

This story about the trolling and media protection for such actions doesn't surprise me at all, and it's been a pretty well known thing for some time. It's nice to see that she recorded an interaction, though, because that helps lend credence to the accusations of what happened.

The reality, though, is that it happens on both sides, but I do see it as being a more engrained part of the leftist machine than I do with the right.

Regardless, it's great to see people who actually think for themselves and step up to expose things that are wrong with the modern political climate.

Now, let's discuss the responses in this thread:

Did a single goddam person who responded on the first page even watch the video? Could your rambling about existing Nazis be any further from the point of this thread?

The point is that the Nazi boogeyman--the overused accusation that everyone is a Nazi that disagree with the extreme left (it's replaced the word "racist," but has the same effect)--is a fabricated threat/concern that is used as a tactic to divide and exacerbate the appeal-to-emotion logical fallacies that much of the outrage from the left (and the right, but this is about the left) is founded upon.

It's obvious to a thinking person that the OP did not mean that there's not a single Nazi-minded individual in the world.

Jesus, people, pull your thinking caps out from the keepsake box, dust them off, and put them on and actually discuss the point of the OP and video--it's actually a good interview and a great topic for ATS.

Or, keep perpetuating the bitching a moaning about misconstrued intentions in phrases that don't matter to the overall point and run with that.

You know...whatever.

Yes you could go for that show of hands but i've already indicated i'll call out constructed consensus here...

The old “anybody-who-doesn’t-agree-with-me-is-a-shill” schtick, yeah?

Look who's gone full blown victimhood in another victimhood thread!

That escalated quickly, kinda funny though.

They exist in response to the presence of supremist African-American (Bloods, Crips, Gangster Disciples) and South-American street gangs (MS13, Cartels) in neighborhoods and prisons.

Who is "They"? And why don't they fight the CIA instead? What are they, a bunch of morons or mafia hitmen?

It's the context that counts here not the content, also noteworthy that not one negative consensus poster has addressed the content of what she experienced but has thus far only attempted to reinforce the generation of the false perception she questions.

LOL, so you prefer context (subjective) over content (objective)?

Sure, I can see that. Easier to leave your beliefs unchallenged by facts that way.

You've got that the wrong way around overall context is objectivity, the point i was making is that content will be highlighted towards creating consensus not because of it's intrinsic worth but the relative context of representing the position of one particular group, ie it's very often a team game here, and the fact is there is a particular group here that seems incapable of actually challenging anything, they engage in deflection and support this through consensus but haven't actually engaged with the issues raised.

It' seems enough for some to point out some marginalized sub-cultural group of sociopaths attracted to the dark associations of the Third Reich to justify a belief in Nazi's as an actual political and social force whereas by the same method it would have to be assumed that people who claim to be aliens or in with contact such represent evidence of genuine extra-terrestrial life, it's called larping and not to be taken seriously, there is no imminent Nazi or alien threat.

Watching people try to intellectualize these right wing fantasies is one of my favorite forms of entertainment lately.

Because no matter the amount of word salad or $20 words used, the smell of BS is still overpowering.

If I remember rightly the key problem of this anti-harassment start-up Candace Owens was behind was that it was basically tools for doxxing people.

And folks were concerned about Trolls getting their hands on more doxxing tools, given the number of violent rape threats the trolls make when they find out a woman on the internets real name and address.

"In the days that followed, a rare degree of unity was achieved between various opposing factions in the endless internet culture wars: Gamergater and anti-Gamergate advocate alike agreed that this was a very bad idea, and that the Kickstarter’s lack of details — when it launched, there was little sign the company had given any thoughts to potential privacy concerns, nor to countermeasures against the inevitability of reports leveled against innocent people — suggested it was a half-baked, potentially dangerous service that no one really wanted."

Since then Candace has gone on to make a career for herself as the 'victim' of 'evil liberals'.

Because really, do you want everybody on the internet to be able to find out where your young daughter lives and works from her anonymous postings on Twitter?

I think not.

Why watch when we can just solidify our pre-existing notions?

That was a very interesting video. Her story is one that gets shut down by the very thing we see in this thread. There is this archetype of what/who the "opposition" is, and so many simply don't see the need to dispel it. In that mindset, even if the video was watched, all the information would go to confirming bias even if it takes some pretty damn extensive twisting.

All that said, I think its a bit of a mistake to jump to the other team because one team is ostracizing. Its the same visceral response to something like Christianity, where all value in content is stripped because of the actions of those that claim the label.

As a liberal, and an anarchist, I refuse to identify with the caricature that so many are playing out. Neither do I see the need to change political affiliation entirely simply because of how the social group has been manipulated. I don't feel it is accurately representative any more than Agenda 21 represents actual sustainability or green technology. It skirts the line of the No True Scotsman fallacy, but I think there is validity there all the same.

In my opinion, this is all one of the more subtle forms of control. Not only is it possible to manipulate "believers," but you can ensure how the people who reject the premise will respond as well. In the religious context, this is seen when people wholly reject all premises introduced, solely because the people are assholes. In much the same way, rejecting "liberalism" altogether because the people are perceived to be dicks is similarly erroneous.

All it takes to kickstart the control process is to instill a sense of moral righteousness. What was once relegated to religion in terms of large scale control, is now accomplished in entirely secular demographics as well. Why would anyone listen to someone with a different view, when the perceived archetype is that of a morally inferior and morally corrupt individual/group?

So I'm watching this. First off. She gets harassed and because somebody warned her that collecting money for a project to unmask trolls could result in getting trolled en masse, she decides that it makes more sense that the person who warned her was somehow responsible than the the people she was threatening to unmask?

And based on her "feelings" she concluded that Zoey Qunn was never harassed but instead, not only faked her own harassment but harassed her (Candace Owens):

"All I can say is that 100% after speaking with Zoey Quinn, this girl was never harassed, she was doing the harassing"

Am I wrong? Was there was some actual evidence that I missed?

"And I tell him everything. And I'm like yea, Zoey called me up. Open and shut case. Obviously she told me to pull my project and I got harassed."

Again, from her own mouth, she had no clue about #GamerGate (according to her) but based on her feelings, she just knew that Zoey Quinn was behind her being harassed. Just like she intuited that the people who were harassing her weren't male, definitely not white and yadda yadda. Because feelings. What about any of that was "open and shut?"

Then she goes on to say that... lo and behold, her project was effing vaporware. So she can't even claim that she knows what she claims to know based on her supposed non-existent expertise. Then he asks Ms. Owens how she started "piecing it together." Once more, she just "instantly" did so base on what she interpreted as some sort of slip from Quinn? The "ruin everything" moment?

Okay, so here's what I think. Her Kickstarter was probably legitimately trolled. She jumped to a conclusion and publicly accused Zoey Quinn of being behind it. Then journalists who were familiar with Zoey Quinn, #GamerGate, etc all responded to her accusing Quinn, who they fully believe was in fact harassed on an epic scale, of having faked being harassed and having harassed her.

So because she just "knew" that she was right about Quinn, she further concluded that anyone who didn't see it her way was part of a grand conspiracy. I think this girl has found her niche in all this bull#. She's now getting the attention she wanted.

OH NOEZ. LOOK. I DID IT TOO. I must be part of the conspiracy.

This is not a new pattern.

People who have harassed the parents of Sandy Hook victims, calling them crisis actors and the like, have also claimed that they were the real victims when they got called out for being unhinged douche bags harassing the parents of murdered children. And because they obviously weren't going to accept that they were in the wrong, they turned being called out for harassing Sandy Hook parents into "proof" of the validity of their delusions.

Run for your lives! Nazis, I tell ya, Nazis everywhere!

Are you in some kind of altered universe?-you can't be serious with this crap.

My first reply to you was pretty rude... I apologise...

Can you please tell me what I “can’t be serious” about in the post you were replying to, thanks.
I’m interested in knowing what I said that was wrong, so I can educate myself on it.

Tell me again, how Nazis do not exist.
Stop with your lies, misinformation and obfuscation.

You first...
Because to be an actual Nazi you need to belong to the Socialist Workers' Party of Germany. Simply subscribing to their ideas just makes you a pos...

You all are just using the Nazi moniker to justify violence against another human being that's all.

The only one unleashing the Trump hate Bot army has to be Quinn if it followed on directly from a phone call in which she prophesied such would transpire, nobody else was taking her seriously, and that raises serious questions with regards to the amount of orchestration in creating the Gamergate divide, it's well enough known the amount of divide and conquer shilling that transpires on sites like 4chan and likely reaction to provocation.

The fact her Kickstarter was removed indicates someone took her seriously and that the global liberal media were rapidly involved to discredit her once she began to expose Quinn as a professional victim.
