I never said bias does not concern me, and I never said I don't have a problem with the right's bias or their tactics, so that would be assumption and another lie on your part.

I had made the comment that I was unsure why we should focus on one over the other. You answered with "their tactics".

That implies that we should focus on one side's biases and tactics over the other. Which also implies that you do not care about the Right's biases or tactics, because your focus is on the Left.

That is not a lie. We are simply extrapolating based on what we know. It seems your approach is very partisan and inconsistent.

But your sophistry helps to elucidate, or at least hint towards the sort of tactics I am speaking about.

I think we have another situation in which you are talking out of your ass.

Yes, we all know how partisan Fox news and Brietbart is. They've made their allegiances explicit and overt. It is blatant and unsophisticated. It's easily dispelled. I don't fear what is easily recognized for what it is.

It is sophisticated and subversive nature of the liberal media that is by now so ubiquitous, that it forces otherwise well-meaning and intelligent people to accept it and defend it without question. I don't think you are able to criticize it even now.

Again, I'll use Orwell's mordant observations to make my point:

"Any large organisation will look after its own interests as best it can, and overt propaganda is not a thing to object to. One would no more expect the Daily Worker to publicise unfavourable facts about the USSR than one would expect the Catholic Herald to denounce the Pope. But then every thinking person knows the Daily Worker and the Catholic Herald for what they are. What is disquieting is that where the USSR and its policies are concerned one cannot expect intelligent criticism or even, in many cases, plain honesty from Liberal writers and journalists who are under no direct pressure to falsify their opinions."

Of course you can criticize Leftist media. And when applicable, they should be critisized.

The problem is that conspiracy-minded people on the Right create and believe in false narratives surrounding the media and it forces intelligent people to defend the media from the absurd assertions people make about them.

Again, I'll use Orwell's mordant observations to make my point:

What exactly is your point? The Leftist media does criticize it's own, just like the Right media does, even though they still have their inherent biases.

What they do not do is conduct themselves in any way that protects another entity or institution, as is suggested in Orwell's quote. They are only beholden to themselves.

You realize that any major news outlet is biased or skewed to either one side or the other?

They're manipulating us into hating each other, that goes for both sides of the aisle, an aisle that is getting wider and wider by the day. That's no accident and I'm sad to see so many people falling for a false narrative.

"Liberal this, Nazi that." If you're one of those types then you are who they are targeting and you are part of the problem.

Nazi that?
Do you argue the national socialists party of Germany was right wing?

-Chris

Generally it is considered so by virtually everyone but right wingers in the US.

As I said earlier, the media, or anyone else for that matter, should be defended when they are being accused of things that amount to nothing more than concocted conspiracy theories, as you are doing now.

I will not defend the media on their inaccurate reporting or inherent biases, but it appears you are claiming something without any substance to support those claims, except for inapplicable content from Orwell.
