You have a very misguided view of Hollywood, and the modeling industry.

In the 60s and 70s he had some great contributing writers, Ray Bradbury, Shel Silverstein, Arthur C. Clark, et al. So yes, some of us do or did read it for the articles.

Some things you are missing in the casual dismissal of Mr. Hefner, are the huge support he had for civil and gay rights. As well as how he helped to reshape the American mindset about these issues, due to a very large circulation of his magazine.

I also said I hope he is with Jesus , because I do not know what was in his heart and mind at the hour of his death.
People have been implying I said he was in hell , which I didn't... just merely stated he didn't lead a very Christian life...and he isn't someone to idolize.

I'm from the belief system that there is a place for those with remorse , and they need prayers as they go through atonement.

Hugh Heffner is in my prayers ... the rest is up to Jesus .

Sorry but the whole world objectifies EVERYTHING. He simply did what all good entrepreneurs do, marry a market with a product.

He also gave female photographers jobs when no one in any media would.

Lots of bad stuff happened at that mansion. Guess it's easy to forget. If you are young, you will not have a clue of what life was like for women and how Playboy treated women. Please educate yourself before accepting the MSM stories. Read Gloria Steinams account of working at one of his clubs. So much you apparently don't know. Try google.

As a female, and mother of a little girl (who, in 8 years would be game for creeps like Hef) I can't say I shed any tears at the news.

All you dads out there okay with Hef's treatment of teen girls?

Our society celebrates predators like Hef and doesn't promote healthy, meaningful, fulfilling relationships.
