Left to the city to take care of if I remember correctly.
Socialize losses, Capitalize profits.

I saw that rat trap up close and personal.

I've also been to that crap hole the Oakland Coliseum but that's no longer needed since the Las Vegas Carpetbaggers wheedled a stadium out of Sin City.

The NFL isn't listed, this is a very confusing and hidden cost/loss to the US tax payer.

Need more info than this.

How about all the poor dumb suckers who built them a stadium too? Rich billionaires don't need any public money.

I use similar words when I see people wearing sports clothing, and not getting paid for advertising that team to the world.

That at least is a personal choice, when politicians get lobbied by the league or franchises to subsidize a for profit industry it's criminal.

4.9 billion over how long for what?

Walmart is the beneficiary of billions of dollars per year in federal subsidies, according to a new report [PDF] from the non-partisan, progressive group Americans for Tax Fairness.

We are screwed, the corps have the purse strings.

I think that 4.9 billion is over 10 years.

Ummm...most NFL teams don't own the stadiums.

You're right. I don't think any of the stadiums are named after the primary team that plays there...are they?

I don't know.

But it seems everyone wants a chunk of the tax money.

When the Walmart employees start kneeling while on the clock, the government should start throttling back the subsidies.

If Fed subsidies are taken from walmart, the walmart employees won't eat.

Federal Funding should be cut completely. The NFL is a private business and makes plenty of money on their own. There is no need to support them with tax dollars.

I agree. For all pro sports teams. Sick of them pillaging the local community to fund stadiums, only to turn around and charge the same community hundreds more to even use the facilities they paid for.

Cut the funding immediately.

Should never have been happening in the first place....

Professional sports, and some college too, is a scam and a rip off and it's immoral how they scam the people out of so much money something with no real value. Not to mention paying thugs huge salaries.

I wish the American people would wise up and boycott all professional sports, well except maybe hockey.

We shall see. I would not want to be on Trump's bad side, the NFL has landed exactly there.
