However trump weighing in makes me fully support protesting a president over stepping his bounds and power and influence over a private business.

Well at least you are honest about it.
I think 90% of the other hullabaloo was also due to the resist movement.

All of this and kap is still unemployed.........
To all those who have forgotten they are watching, and your "protest" will be held against you later.

Would it be more if they bowed down to trump?

Have you thought of this.

Until trump said something I personally thought it was a dumb protest. I just wasn't hysterical over the flag. Maybe because I was raised Christian where we are supposed to not worship symbols in fear of losing the meaning.

However trump weighing in makes me fully support protesting a president over stepping his bounds and power and influence over a private business.

Yes they would have probably loss less fans in my opinion had they not one else or stayed in locker rooms. No I do not think that is bowing down to trump.

I wasn't a fan of trumps comments, but didn't take offense to them as you apparently, and that's fine.

Just strategically, I think the kneeling is a bad move for the NFL and the original protestors, and will make more people angry at them than at trump.

But again, I guess we will see.

there is a huge difference between a scripted interaction with fans and sitting at a pub drinking several pints.

Almost every major city I have lived in has had a pro team and the interactions are very carefully managed by the teams to keep the perception of the team in a favorable light. (not just football, all pro sports)

Your choosing one team still does not change my point.

Of course I have a disconnect from how they live LOL, I do not make 6-7 figures a year, I do not have an agent, or an entourage, or a boss that has to balance public perception against keeping me happy.

Cool. I am carpenter, my wife is a research scientist. She makes more than twice my income.

Yet we talk at dinner every night.

So does my son who owns no wealth and even my two daughters who are toddlers.

Sometimes at work millionaires even talk to me.

Maybe you live in an isolated world with contempt for those with 6 figures. I don't.

I have been blue collar my whole life.

Now you are pulling that right out of a fantasy tale just to make a point. Not the Deaf alien I thought I knew. I sorta consider you somewhat logical for someone who does not get the big picture because you make the anti look so,, well even more wrong just by your simple capitulation to the truth, normally.

Capitulate to the truth that most of 'merica realizes that clearly Trump doesn't hate America you just said that to piss off the righty's. Neutral has to call you out. Play fair or we won't read or comment back to you.

The leftist DINO's and the RINO's are going down because most of us are moderates and the moderates are waking up to the challenge.

Sports is something people can use to escape reality/politics if only for a few hours, it's a shame politics has spilled over into this, blue, red or purple; black or white nobody needs or wants this.

Wouldn't it had been better for everybody to just ignore Trump on this one ?

Instead they angered patriotic Americans of all creeds. And left guys like Alejandro Villanueva between a rock and a hard place in a real catch 22.

It's pathetic really.

There is also the apology he made. He did not apologize for standing for the anthem or the flag. He apologized for disobeying his coach. He did not intend to make himself a figure of defiance against his team.

That's a big difference.

You also have Roethlisberger's own words on his blog today that talked about how he was so dissatisfied with how the team handled it that he didn't sleep on Sunday night and wished he'd been out there standing too.

In fairness, if I just QB'd a team to a loss against the Chicago bears, I probably wouldn't sleep either.

I am blue collar my wife is 6 figure.

We got married and understand each other.

I have worked for millionaires. They have both treated me badly and well...

So no I don't pre judge people by salary but if it's your thing go for it.

All blue collar people love Donald Trump and irrational symbolic gestures. We are a monolith.

I've noticed the black community that I go to church with like him. IN fact it appears that most do who aren't in BLM or Antifa. He is a breath of fresh air to jobs in the black community and telling bad people off makes them very happy. Truth telling is dangerous in a society the abhors the truth. Woe to the deniers who are not ignorant because we can fix that.

eta
The black ministers I have heard speak say that it is YOUR responsibility to act civil when pulled over by the leo's. Also, dont wear a hoodie, pull up your pants we don't need to see your underwear, go to church to learn to love your neighbor, and be there for your family at all times. They say blame yourself if you commit a crime because you were raised to be a better person than that. I could go on and on with what they are saying that doesn't fit the CNN/BSNBC/CBS narrative.

There's 1700 players on the active roster any given year. That doesn't include the practice squad and staff. HUGE turnover year to year due to injury, retirement and player falloff. So 38 arrests(not convictions) per year is hardly noteworthy.
