Maybe patriotic Americans can take a queue from antifa and throw urine filled balloons at the clowns kneeling while the anthem plays?

Really wish you would answer this.

Say you find yourself in another country at a sporting event and they play their national anthem. are you going to stand? If so why?

Probably. Because I don't want to start a fight.

Would you and stand and I am 100% sure you would and why? Is it because you respect their flag so much or is it because you just dont want to be disrespectful to the people that do?

This isn't about foreigners and the flag. It is about American citizens and the flag. Not the same comparison and as I said, I'd do it more out of not wanting to start any issues with the locals than anything. It's not like I believe in their flag or respect it or anything. It's just the polite thing to do when I'm not in my home country.

So you respect those people and would not want to be disrespectful. Thanks for proving my point.

So you are affirming that you have no clue as to the reason why we should honor the flag. We should just do it because it is the right thing to do. That's all I get out of your willful misreading of my words here. You dishonor your flag with your ignorance.

Controversial protests are the best kind because it gets people talking about the issue. They aren't meant to unite. They are meant to spur discussion and action.

But the flag is meant to unite it says so right in the pledge"indivisible". people are such morons.

The pledge? You mean the Socialist Pledge where you pledge mindless obedience to the government? The pledge is probably the least patriotic thing we've slapped the name "patriotic" on, and I say that as a supporter of Socialist policies.

LOL. Just lol. And lol.Its like talking to a wall.

The National Anthem has only been televised since the 2009 season. At the request of the government. And that request came with a large sum of money. The goal was to make the NFL appear more patriotic. That sounds pretty political to me.

Prior to that the players just hung out in the locker room during the anthem.

But you would stand. So you have more respect for other people then you do for Americans.

Then don't buy a ticket. Simple as that, right?

The only thing simple is your answer.

It should not be an added decision upon purchasing a ticket or watching on t.v. (which you pay for as well).

Keep it of the field and on your own time, why is that so hard?

Instead they should go lay in the streets like all the other misguided minds.

No. I have manners and desire to be polite when I'm not in my home country. Again, mostly to avoid controversy. I, by no means, feel obligated to stand and if I desired or was in a group of Americans I very well might not care about it. I'm not a Christian and feel no love towards their god, but I'd still go through the motions of their mass if I went to one which I've done from time to time with my relatives.

This all has absolutely nothing to do with customs towards the flag and national anthem in my own country. The flag and anthem represent something. We stand and honor the flag for those reasons. We don't do it just because it is the right thing to do. If you don't know those reasons you are doing more disservice to the flag by blindly worshiping it than someone kneeling during the Anthem.

I do have to say this whole debate reminds me of an old Boy Meets World episode. I think the role Cory plays is quite apt. They don't know why they're upset and the second something else grabs their attention they'll forget all about this.

Funny seeing how all the violence is coming completely from the left.

Well you don't have that choice. You only have the choice of not buying a ticket or turning the tv off. The owners and coaches are standing behind the players on this. So if you disagree, then that is the only option available to you.
