Trump calls for NFL owners to "fire the sons of bitches" who take a knee in peaceful protest to police brutality and racism, but armed Neo Nazis and White Supremacists, marching with Tiki Torches, chanting "Jews will not replace us!", some of them are "fine people"!

GTFO Mr Trump!

Damn. You have enough strawmen there to start your own team.

Ironic. This is you talking about other posters:

God, some of you I swear, argue just to hear your own lips flap.

And here's you showing that despite your own lip-flapping, you don't know what you're talking about:

I don't recall many saying the players should be sacked.

The idiot President said it yesterday, in Huntsville, at a rally in support of Luther Strange:

“Wouldn’t you love to see one of these NFL owners, when somebody disrespects our flag, to say, ‘Get that son of a bitch off the field right now. Out! He’s fired. He’s fired!’”

God this squawking and hysteria about anything and everything is boring.

Let them do what they want with their knees and footballs.
Let Trump say whatever stupid thing he wants.

Thanks

So people with power should not offer opinions?

They lose that right?

The president, definitely. It's unprofessional. Again he's the leader of a country, telling a business to fire employees that offend him.

So football players have the right to free expression, but presidents you don't like, don't.

I didn't say that, just that he's got a lot more power than an NFL player. he's the president. You can see how that's different, right?

No.

Yes, he's the president.

The others are football players.

Each has the same equality of expression.

Oh, okay. So that whole argument you made: " Protesting the government is one thing. This is not protesting the government, however. It's a racial issue. It's not against the government, it's against a problem that is perceived to be a larger issue."

....was just a "my pants are too tight. so I put an ice cream cone on my head", moment for you as well then, eh? You admit that 1st Amendment covers those who protest police brutality and systemic racism.

No, you complete walley.

They're not protesting what you think they are, are they, by disrespecting the entire country. How does getting down on a knee when the anthem plays and effectively thumbing their noses at the entire country, say SFA about what you claim. That being, police brutality and racial injustice? It does not. It's simply being a tool and an ignorant one at that.

God, some of you I swear, argue just to hear your own lips flap.

Go put an ice cream on your head and parade around and claim you're standing against inequality and injustice... see if you don't look like a twat.

"Malcolm Jenkins, Anquan Boldin and Torrey Smith invited Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie and NFL commissioner Roger Goodell to meet with police, grassroots organizations, policy leaders and public defenders in Philadelphia. The group, along with Rodney McLeod and Chris Long, met to get a better understanding of the complexities of the criminal justice reform work that many of the players have been conducting over the past year to strengthen the community."

Yay. Did they get on one knee as they did it? It is, afterall, the in vogue thing to do it appears. It's like, "OMG Did you see that, those NFL players got on one knee - I better change my mind right now, and stop the nazis!!"

yawn... but at least they did something worth while. Yet nothing to do with the OP.

Donald did.

I didn't know Donald was a member of ATS. Is his name Don on a bike, perhaps? That sneaky bike.

Good.

Long long long overdue.

Yep, just gave an example.

I think you just don't know how much players do behind the scenes. The thug players aren't the ones protesting . It's the intellectuals for the most part who are active in the community.

Righto. The thugs are ignorant to things, but the intellectuals are doing good.

Sounds about right. We need more intellectual NFL players to change the world, and save black people from police brutality and injustice.

I said that on one knee, so I'm legit.

He most certainly did call "both sides in Charlottesville" good people; he didn't specify who was who.

Why lie about something so well known?

You know, why don't you give some evidence for all these "proven" things? Eh?

Are you thumbing your nose at God when you get on your knees to pray?

I swear, some of you are just typing to see your fingers twitch.

You don't pray? Why you little heretic bug you ...

I improved your "insult" ... it actually makes some sense now.

Care to stop the side-step?

When people who do pray get down on their knees ... are they thumbing their noses at their God?

So tell me then, what does disrespecting fallen heroes do to further the rectification of police brutality and racial divide?

Apart from distancing yourself from people who would otherwise agree with you?

This is not about protesting, but about what is being protested. I am for police brutality being ended. Racial inequality being ended. I don't think by sticking your finger up at the entire country, is the way to go about it.

Why is this so hard for people to get?

Best comment I've read in this thread. Don't we have more serious things to worry about than what a bunch of millionaires do on the football field?

What is the NFL anyway besides a big money machine? A 60 minute game that takes 3+ hours to play. National anthem... commercial. Kickoff... commercial. A touchdown... commercial. Extra point... commercial. Official review... commercial. Injury... commercial.

Protesting is okay.

Using your free speech to comment on protesters and you get this. . . .
