Off the top of my head, these are the major unilateral actions that the Trump Administration is taking, to hasten the demise of ObamaCare..

1a. Funding for advertising 2018 ObamaCare enrollment has been cut 90%.
1b. Funding for compensating groups that assist people enrolling in ObamaCare has been cut 40%.
Source: thehill.com...

2. The ObamaCare Small Business Exchange for purchasing health insurance is being torpedoed on 12.31.2017.
Source: healthaffairs.org...

3. Open Enrollment for ObamaCare usually runs for 90 days. The 2018 Enrollment period has been cut 50%..to just 45 days. (Nov 1st to Dec 15th)
Source: www.mlive.com...

4. Today, the Trump Administration announced that the Federal website for purchasing ObamaCare (HealthCare.gov) will be "off line" for 12 hours, during every Sunday of the 45 day Open Enrollment period. And also for the entire night on November 1st...the first day of 2018 Open Enrollment.
Source: www.pbs.org...

There are also additional, smaller measures being taken, that will make it harder for people to enroll in ObamaCare for 2018. (I'll add more as they are activated.)

Add all of the above to the 2018 ObamaCare premium increase of 26%, the huge 7,300 deductible, 40% of doctors not accepting ObamaCare, and 85% of health insurers dropping out, you've got a government program that's in CRITICAL CONDITION...literally.

Do you think the Trump Administration is implementing actions that will speed up the inevitable demise of ObamaCare, in an attempt to force Congress to implement an affordable, all-inclusive healthcare system, ASAP? That's what I think (and hope) President Trump's strategy is.

They are doing everything they can to make it either undesirable or impossible to enroll under the ACA. He doesn't give a $#!+ about the people who needed this. He just wants to spite Obama. Couldn't stand to see a black man as president. His tweets were so derogatory. But he's a hypocrite. All those tweets about how little golf he'd play and how he'd always be at the white house. Lol. So glad all these backwards idiots got conned by a slick talking, New York City businessman who cares about one thing. Himself.

Just to be clear, you're openly acknowledging that Trump's deliberately making it harder for people to get healthcare through the ACA, right? And you suspect that he's trying to make it worse in order to force Congress to repeal it and replace it with something new, right?

So what happens to the Americans who need healthcare but can't get it through the crippled ACA if Congress still doesn't pass an alternative to the ACA? It sounds like this ploy is risking people's lives for political gain.

Trump trying to destroy the ACA? Check.

Trump wants something better? Ummm.... No.

Trump doesn't understand anything about the healthcare industry and has absolutely nothing granular to offer. All he wants is to be able to claim that he kept a campaign promise, no matter how many people it screws over.

The sad thing is that Republicans (voters and politicians alike) went all in on hating all things Obama, and created a death spiral of stupidity.

ppl blaming Trump for the dumpster fire of ACA is mindless and ignores the facts and warnings of people like AJ YEARS AGO!

That's alot of hate there. It's hard to see the light through hate.

Don't care for Trump or Obama but I believe you are throwing everything including the kitchen sink into absolutes so it is impossible for you to see any good that might come out of this presidency.

Obamacare has been an awful failure for all. I will hope that better heads prevail and some kind of healthcare for all people can be resolved and if Trump can pull it off then that's great.

Crazy disaster. The posters here mostly just hate Trump-he is doing what he said he was going to do-do away with the much failed Obamacare.

I do hope he has a healthcare plan for everyone that is workable because our nation is in a really horrible healthcare nightmare.

Hillary's fans just can't let go-whatever Trump-and he's definitely not my guy-does they will hate-this will never end.

So you're saying Trump is just as bad as Obama? And did you get to keep your Doctor when everyone else didn't? If you or anyone supports the "affordable (total lie) care act" then they don't deserve any health care at all ever again. It was a diabolical lie manufactured by the democrat party to completely loot the treasury and expand government, not to actually help people receive any health care. This is why it isn't working and costs so much and no one can afford it. 100 percent dog Sht.
Wake up to reality.

So actually, instead of replacing healthcare with something else, they are just cutting it.

Need money for bullets, go figure.

Granted, President Trump hasn't lived up to the little things, like not golfing much, but the number of hours he puts in a day more than compensates for the time spent enjoying recreational activities. He accomplishes more in a week than Congress does in a month.

Yes, that is the goal.

No. The goal is simply to get rid of Obamacare ASAP, whether or not a replacement is in place.

There's no doubt that President Trump and HHS Secretary Price are putting up barriers for ObamaCare enrollment. In fact, Trump's first Executive Order, 6 hours after being sworn in, was designed to throttle back ObamaCare enrollment.

You're right. The actions being taken are a gamble. If Democrat and Republican lawmakers really don't care about (literally) saving American lives, and easing suffering, they will not take any action. History will label both the President and Congress as callous leaders, if no replacement was implemented before ObamaCare totally failed.

That's one of the most significant things: willfully trying to keep a segment of the country from getting healthcare for a political purpose. Pretty sick.

The "campaign promise" you refer to, was a "beautiful healthcare system that covers everybody".
www.politico.com...

You're right, Trump DOES want to say that he kept campaign promises.

There's no doubt that ObamaCare was designed to fail in a way that would make America beg for a single-payer universal coverage system.

With the actions taken by the Trump administration to speed up death of ObamaCare, the single-payer, or even better, the two-tier system I advocate, will be on its way all the sooner.

All I know is my child and I need one drug to continue to live, no "ifs" "ands" or "buts" about it.

Since Obama's ACA went into effect the cost of my once cheap drug is now up from $90/3month supply to $600/3months.

Oh and that is ON INSURANCE!

If the drug costs aren't reigned in, under ANY system it won't matter.

A lot of people will just end up dying.

But no one is talking about that, are they?

"We have insurance for everyone!!" they scream, while quietly muttering that no one will be able to afford it soon.

Justso, ObamaCare is a two-edged sword. Lots of people have been medically helped by it, and lots of people are financially and medically hurt by it.

Likewise, the "system" before ObamaCare hurt those who were low-income workers, and those who were chronically ill. But it was good for those who were middle/upper-middle class...and those who were relatively healthy, or better.

The way to make everyone happy is

1.) to have ObamaCare for the low-income and/or those who are chronically ill. "If you like your ObamaCare, you can keep your ObamaCare". The government will continue to subsidize the premium, and mandate "guaranteed" coverage, just like now.

2.) Enable Free Market, Underwritten health plans for everyone else. They will buy what they want, and the benefits will be whatever they need. The cost will be 50% to 80% less than ObamaCare coverage.

NCA...Most of the people who complain are not the ones that ObamaCare is hurting. They either are against everything Trump, or have job, or government insurance. Or a combination.

Its almost certain that the complainers are not an individual or a family who has seen their health insurance premium soar 100% to 200% in the past 4 years, along with the deductible quadrupling.
