McCain is probably getting some Obamacare kickbacks with his recently diagnosed brain tumor.McCain also multi-millionaire.
Jimmy Kimmel multi-millionaire somehow cannot afford His sick child....Hope is child will be ok anyways.
Some people do not understand that many people never need real costly healthcare their whole life.

Obamacare is an entitlement program that favors the politicians in DC.

It's never going away.

Yep that is why the GOP purposely selected the candidate that was most likely to lose against Obama ,which also created the precursor RomneyCare.

Obamcare was wanted by the insurance lobby who helped draft the laws , The job of the GOP and DNC was to make sure that it got implemented. There is no desire by the GOP to undo it .

Just like the GOP is not going to shrink gov't or significantly decrease taxes for middle America, like they have been whining about for decades . They have full control and they are acting no different than the democrats. Hopefully a few will finally open their eyes to the 2 party sham and join forces to get back control of both parties and our gov't.

The ACA is great for people who are poor and "sick". Keep the ACA alive and funded for those groups.

Everyone else should be able to buy the type of health insurance they want.. everything from $50,000 Catastrophic plans...to $0 Deductible Rolls Royce plans. ObamaCare PROHIBITS health insurance companies from marketing those type of "non-compliant" plans in America.

If Congress truly cared about the middle/upper-middle class voter, they (Repubs/Dems) would enable Free Market health insurance for the majority of Americans who want it. That would be so simple! It's only a matter of resurrecting the software and underwriting that existed before Obama phucked everything up in March 2010.

And he was elected to the U.S. Senate by the people of Arizona. Maybe there was no one willing to challenge McCain for that seat?

Well, I know JD Hayworth challenged him a few years ago. McCain spent $24 Million against Hayworth's $3 Million to win the GOP nomination... the catch here was that over $18 Million of the money McCain spent was actually from his failed presidential run. Then he proceeded to smear Hayworth with assistance from the corporate media in Arizona.

I think many politicians on the left have made it perfectly clear that they will not be working with trump or the republicans.
Heaven forbid they would compromise for the good of the country.

You SERIOUSLY said that?

With a straight face?

Then Jimmy should pay the funeral expenses of those who die, due to ObamaCare being so crappy in so many parts of the country.

For those that like this bill name 3 things you think will make healthcare better for the average American?

First, you must define the "average American".

Family of 4 making between 20,000 to 70,000. Health insurance shouldn't Force someone to go into bankruptcy. And in all honesty you should be able to say what you really like about the plan regardless

Maybe. But he won't be going out without a bang. That is , preventing this horrific replacement bill from seeing the light of day. Not a bad way to end your time as senator.

All that needs be done is create a pool for the uninsured and unemployed...as many as there are they will have a really low rate.

Hmm. Imagine the low rate pool if ALL Americans were in there?

It's not Jimmy's fault that the Republican's are trying to push through a last ditch, hail Mary effort to repeal the ACA, that's worse that the 2 before, that they couldn't pass either, without bipartisan input, public hearings or a Congressional Budget review.

in attempting to defend his indefensible 'no' vote

'Indefensible'? Have you seen the Cassidy-Graham bill? It's estimate to cost the States an additional $200 billion + in costs if it passes. It gives insurers free reign to hype up premiums to unrealistic rates based on pre-existing conditions and claims. Are you just angry McCain isn't towing the line of the establishment GOP?? And here I thought you well and truly believed both parties are the issue and the establishment is the issue.

Interesting.

Earlier this week, AZ Governor Doug Ducey tweeted that the Cassidy-Graham bill was the best chance we had to repeal and replace Obamacare and urged all of Congress to vote in favor of the bill...

Well maybe Trump needs to be more forthcoming with his opposition. Either way, I don't blame his reluctance in supporting this bill.

Behind the lines stabbing your own allies in the back as usual,

In translation, instead of making his own judgement as a senator for what may feel is best for his State, he should just tow the line of establishment GOP. Ok. Very unATS like.

It amazing how many here are bashing a handful of senators for not supporting a partisan Bill. It's not Mcains fault, it's the Damm Bills fault.

Here's an Idea get a bill that at least 35%-40% of Republicans can support AND at least 35-40% of Democrats can support. Then you won't have to worry about a handful of people spoiling your perfect healthcare bill

......I know it's a crazy idea, what's wrong with me

From what I understand he refuses to stand with a bill that gives very little detail. To me it looks like he is trying to stand on the correct side and for the people, rather then standing trying to kiss Trumps ass! Just because he refuses to side with the bill does not make him a horrible person, at least he has the guts to stand up and say no.

Anyone that votes for this needs to give their head a shake..how much is all this going to cost? Does anyone know? Whats going to happen to insurance premiums? Will they go down? Or will they sky rocket so that no one can afford health care other then the rich. It's one thing to vote yes on a bill that's laid out and has all the information laid out, it's quite another to vote yes blindly on a bill with a president that says "Just trust me!" ..

Good for Sen. McCain, it's about time someone on the hill uses their brain for a change!
