John McCain is the fall guy. I mean, don't get me wrong, I can't stand him but to think he's responsible for this is absurd. Does anyone really believe it was a coincidence that he was the last vote on the previous bill that failed? Did they just decide to go in reverse alphabetical order that day?

What's really happening is the republicans don't want to pass it. Why? Well, if it looks like just one or two senators are stopping what got all of them elected, what's going to happen? More republicans will get elected AND they get to stall the Trump agenda.

So I expect they're going to get nothing done on anything but they're going to continue to whip up votes for repeal bills that won't pass. They'll continually hang it around the neck of mccain (since he's retiring anyway, he's good with this) and run for re-election, again, on repealing obamacare. It's a risky strategy, but what's the alternative? Repeal and motivate dems to come out in force in 2018?

Yes, god forbid a Senator vote their conscience instead of towing the party line.

Best post of the year, but when your deplorable and have no values, no integrity, morals and lack basic common sense, you tend to follow people with the same characteristics. So glad this guy is not like the rest of his disloyal puppet bot, programmed, sheeple, who have no morals for the people as a whole.

We don't elect people for their conscience, we elect them based on the positions they tell us they hold (we may infer what their conscience will tell them, but that's all perception). In this case, McCain told his constituents he would lead the fight to repeal obamacare. By not doing so, he's making himself a dishonorable and petty liar.

Good. Healthcare proposals with only one party voting for them are not what we need. We need a bipartisan proposal that won't be dismantled the next time power changes in Washington.

Imagine if Medicare changed every 4 to 8 years. Obamacare didn't work out, neither will a Republican only version.

Healthcare is a Bipartisan concern. It should be a bipartisan solution.

Dumb people don't understand that, they are just so desperate to fit in and say and do whatever it takes to be noticed.Desperate, lonely people will do anything to fit in nowadays, it's really evident on this site, sad.

The problem is, you haven't figured out any solutions. You've made a list of demands which aren't easy to meet.

“Since Obamacare was rammed through Congress without a single Republican vote, my colleagues and I have been warning that Obamacare would do nothing to bring down health care costs or improve access to care for American families. And year after year, we see premiums rise, health care options dwindle, and access decline while Democrats dig in their heels in order to protect the President’s legacy over the good of the country. I won’t stop fighting to repeal and replace the president’s health care law with solutions that work for the people of my state and urge both Republicans and Democrats who have seen these problems mount to join me.
www.mccain.senate.gov...

Sounds pretty much like what he's been talking about lately. He doesn't think the plans presented are workable for his state and he wants bipartisanship. Did then, does now.

Who cares, he's a maverick and a real soldier of war, he can do whatever the hell he wants to and whos going to stop him?He said he would help repeal Obamacare not help kill people.

So was he not representing his constituents when he voted for the same bill before or this time?

What do you mean "same bill?" When did he vote yes?

His constituents care. Luckily he'll be replaced soon. He's been living on his "war hero" status for way too long.

ETA:
Here, head on over and take a look at this link. Do you see how he started to pull away, finally in sept- october? Guess what happened: The new rates for ACA insurance came out and one side wanted to keep ACA (dem) and mccain was leading the fight against it. And that's how mccain got re-elected.

Also, he's not a maverick, you can 100% predict what mccain is going to do by seeing what the media wants him to do, that's what he'll do. The man loves himself and positive press strokes his ego. He needs that after trump dealt a death blow to it.

The one they voted on in july. The same one they voted on in 2015. He voted for repeal in 2015, against in 2017.

Oh, I thought you said "same bill." My mistake.

He voted no in twice in July. Neither was the same as the other and neither was anything like the 2015 bill. Of course, everyone, including him knew the 2015 vote was for nothing but show. It was meaningless.

He did vote yes on one bill in July, true. But again, not the same bill.

See, unlike a lot of Republicans, he's more interested in making sure his constituents get good health care than just dumping the ACA. He also understands that an effective law will require bipartisan action. Like he said (see above).

Yes, it was identical to the 2015 bill, well procedurally it was different but the effect was the exact same. In 2015 it was it's own bill. In 2017 it was a hollowed out bill that was amended to insert the contents of the 2015 bill.

The same but different.

The 2015 vote was for show. When it got serious things changed. McCain's statement (above) is from June of 2016. Don't blame him if you didn't notice.

Ok, so it was 2015 john mccain that was lying? I absolutely love your defense of this liar, it's so true to form. McCain is the scum of the earth politician, the prototypical crap bag. He's been this way for years. Have a look: LINK

Then there's his tokyo rose video. A real class act, huh?

Yes, mccain will do anything to be loved by the media. Trump on the other hand is an actual maverick. Look at the public scorn trump has taken, for more than two years now. Has he changed to appease the media or the establishment? No, not really. Meanwhile McCain flip flops in the sun like a fish, drying to his death on the sand.

Another problem is that Democrats honestly do not think there is a serious problem with Obamacare. Just a few Kinks that need to be worked out.

Lying? I don't know. But he did know that the vote was meaningless just like all the Republicans did.

You know he was being tortured, right? He broke. He's admitted it. Judge him for it when you are put through what he was.
