The Air Force is looking at options for the T-X, from awarding the contract with a delayed start date, to straight up delaying the program. The uncertainty comes from the budget debate. If another CR is passed, the Air Force will have to get special budgeting to start a new program.

Awarding the contract and delaying the start allows for any protests to be handled without delaying work on the program, as well as dealing with any budgetary issues.

These CRs really do # everything up. Can we please just get a budget?

I hadn't realized just how long it'd been since we'd seen any nonBoeing T-X threads:

The Koreans think their bid with the T-50 is in seriously trouble: KAI did business with Cohen and even the hint of scandal is likely to be something the USAF would want to avoid.

Lockheed's still confident about winning the T-X, but they are talking about offering the T-50A to the Navy as a replacement for the T-45. if Lockheed loses the T-X.

That's what worries me. They went from reliable as hell, to threw crashes and a serious ground incident in a year.
