So what's the youth perspective, because I doubt they are yearning for the days of Ozzie and Harriet. First thing comes to my mind is that they didn't bother to vote. Maybe they don't relate to the MAGA concept?

Interestingly, while the majority of young people are rather liberal, there's an ever growing and actually strong conservative movement among the younger crowd. They don't really embrace traditional Republican values, as they're not strong on social conservatism or even fiscal conservatism but they strongly believe in keeping what they've worked for, earning their keep, and paying their own way.

If I had to pin this on anything, I think it's the fact that the young are paying very high costs for college, with debt they can never discharge, and are told at every turn that their degree is something special... and also a cross to bear. It's given the youth this idea that they have a unique burden on society, and that they're going to trudge along despite it, and take pride in it... and that if they can do that, then others can do something they see as easier.

Carve out the Progressive Era, the Great Society, the Hippie 60s, then the Carter/Clinton/Obama eras.

That comes close to when America was great.

Anyone who pretends to the barest understanding of logic reasoning knows that such false dichotomies are not only fallacious ... but absurd.

Anyone who is dull-witted enough to truly believe that the only problems extant are "with the other side" deserves what they eventually get in my estimation.

He was a Christian and a crony capitalist. He killed Jews in Christ's name. He promised great prosperity and liberty and to Make Germany Great Again.

Turn the other cheek (humility)

Do unto others as you would have done unto yourself (respect)

Tolerance of other people's lifestyle, but not necessarily acceptance. (Common Decency)

Actions define people, not their words or promises. Accountability to those actions. Follow through - you start something, you see it through until you are done.

Respect of Innocent Human Life

Traditional family unit - man + woman - married and working before they have kids - difficult to divorce

Work Ethic - he who is able bodied and chooses to not work shall not eat

It's quite obvious here that if you are/were a member of one of the privileged groups in the "great times" of the United States, you think on that time soundly.

If you were not a member of those groups, that time is the reason why you fight a return to it. Because trust me, that's what's at stake here.

It sounds like a guy who knew how to use religion to achieve his worldly goals. That doesn't make him a religious person.

We can agree he was a cronyist, but true capitalism is not associated with government preferences.
