The reason they were so quite is because he exposed them. He is unraveling their curtains of BS one by one. Beside that, who cares what the U.N. think. They are an irrelevant old joke.

U.N. Human Rights Council:
1) Saudi Arabia
2) Cuba
3) Venezuela
4) China
5) Iraq
6) Qatar
7) Burundi
8) Iraq
9) Bangladesh
10) UAE

Yes, those are the members of Human rights council in the UN. LOOOOOOOL !

Another Joke ? Here :

The Geneva-based human rights group UN Watch condemned the U.N.’s election of Saudi Arabia, “the world’s most misogynistic regime,” to a 2018-2022 term on its Commission on the Status of Women, the U.N. agency “exclusively dedicated to the promotion of gender equality and the empowerment of women.

According to the UN the worst violator of womens rights is Afghanistan..... nope !! It is Israel. The list goes on and on and on and on. Basically, they can STFU.

Trump criticized socialism in Venezuela* has 'being faithfully implemented' which was met with an awkward silence followed by some scattered laughter. An individual began enthusiastically clapping which generated some applause in the room.

Trump did not appear amused.

Best. Thread. Ever.

I wholeheartedly agree with Trump-what has the UN done? There only response of late is stern letters and sanctions-Whoa hold back Cassius Clay I don't want to be paper cut to death.

Sudan, Mali,Zimbabwe, etc-where were they? the Doctors without borders were there. Throwing out sanctions only hurts the civilians who need trade to make their livelihood and these overpowering warlords will exploit that.

I've said it before-cut the head of the snake and the body will die, but that poses problems. To paraphrase when you start teaching Religious fanatics about Darwinism, it will take them years if not decades to adjust and where is the UN? sitting at a round table discussing the font to use for next weeks briefing papers.

I'd like to think there are peaceful solutions but sometimes the sword is mightier than the pen, especially when millions of lives are at stake.

I came to tell everybody in this thread that you are lying. Just watched Hispanic TV channel news. They sounded pleased about what President Trump said about Venezuela and they also interviewed some of the people who attended the event. All agree with Trump. The only one upset was the person representing Venezuela.

You just put a stigma on your forehead with 2 letters : "BS".

So it wasn't the "UN General Assembly". Then I fail to see how the OP is BS.

Sorry, I am unconcerned how the Useless Nations respond to Trump.

TV news programs usually show old Los Vegas hotels being imploded to make way for new structures. I can't wait to see this happen to the UN. They can relocate to Qatar or someplace more to their liking.

If Trump wanted real laughs he should have congratulated the UN at what it does best: Raping innocent children in third world countries.

Bet they would have been laughing their asses off over that one.

I love how all the sudden Venezuela isn't "real" socialism.

Lets look at some famous people that praised their way of government.

NOAM CHOMSKY- claimed Chavez brought forward the “historic liberation of Latin America” proving “destructive to the rich oligarchy.”

SEAN PENN -met with Hugo Chavez on numerous occasions, describing him as a “fascinating guy” who did “incredible things for the 80% of the people that are very poor there.”

After Chávez’s death in 2013, Penn said that the “United States lost a friend it never knew it had” while “poor people around the world lost a champion.”

“Venezuela and its revolution will endure under the proven leadership of vice president Nicolas Maduro,” he continued.

OLIVER STONE- “I mourn a great hero to the majority of his people and those who struggle throughout the world for a place,” Stone said after Chávez’s death. “Hated by the entrenched classes, Hugo Chávez will live forever in history.”

JESSE JACKSON- “Hugo fed the hungry. He lifted the poor. He raised their hopes. He helped them realize their dreams. And, so, today we do mourn, because we’ve lost a lot. But we have a lot left – a stable government, an orderly transition,” he said.

MICHAEL MOORE- after Chávez’s death, Moore praised him for “eliminating 75 percent of extreme poverty” while “[providing] free health and education for all.”

JEREMY CORBYN- Following his death in 2013, Corbyn thanked Chávez for allegedly insuring “that the poor matter and wealth can be shared,” adding he had made “massive contributions to Venezuela and the world.”

And many many more. Now they are silent or say its not real socialism.

Jordan Peterson explains the not real communism or socialism argument.

I missed the failing Venezuela part but there were two resounding applause during the first part of his speech. I don't think the UN likes him very much because he expects them to actually perform and get things done.

I know..... It's like "real" socialism is like Shangri-La.

The Left couldn't fawn over Chavez enough. Too bad he squandered all that Petro wealth and they have zero to show for it. He imported everything rather than building Venezuela to be self sufficient. I'm sure the poor appreciate that.

Kicking out all the companies making him the Petro dollars too....that was a genius move.
