This is more proof that Progressives were never about helping children or being their advocate. It's nothing more than sheer hatred and Progressive agenda

Why single out "Progressives"? Conservatives have done the same or worse.

IgnorantBliss said it best: "social engineering run amok".

I still want to know who choreographed the project at the curriculum design level and what their major course of study was. I would like to know what "groups" this individual is associated with, and what exactly their real agenda is.
Teaching about slavery is social engineering?

Binding their hands and forcing them into a dark room? For crying out loud ..,,it's not rocket science I've seen it already now when an average citizen approves this as an educational tool

This is the secular humanist Progressive Social Justice Warrior agenda. Please if you will show me an example of when a. consevarive group of people did this as an educational tool? Let us not forget that it was Christians who were the original abolitionists. Does Howard Zinn teach that in his nutty sovialjyst r anti American history books? Oh by the way this reminds me of the teacher who got abusive trying to punish students for not approving the Obama agenda.

lol this story.

lol x 42 this outrage.

It was for 2 hours. Am I missing something? I had 3 hour detention and wasn't allowed to move from my seat once. Child abuse amirite?

Unless that idiot kid repeats 8th grade 3 times
then he has to be a 'slave' for 6 hours.

. I've never seen it...so this makes it ok to institute it in the public school system? Way to justify .....oh the Jesus people do it so the public school system is entitled ... geez. So do they bind the students hands and put them in a dark room in Jesus Camp?
Here's a hint ... I don't condone anything Inquisirional whether it be Church or State.

I actually do think there is binding in Jesus camp, I have to search for a source, but in the mean time, consider it was for 2 hours, while watching a movie, an event where students normally aren't allowed to move and tussle about anyway.

Jesus Camp is not for 2 hours, that is a movie for your convenience of not having to experience Jesus Camp. Similar to how 2 hours is a convenience of time to experience being a slave, verses say, forever.

Justifying it? What is wrong with you? Anyway my point is you keep putting this on the "progressives", when conservatives do the same to the children. In the movie they even forced the children to worship GWB! If you condemn those Christians then you'll get some more credibility.

No. You assume that. Teaching black history and doing skits have nothing to do with your word salad. And the children have not been harmed in this. 10 years of doing this proves that. No trauma at all.

So you are justifying this method of education on the basis it's only 2 hours versus a lifetime? That is a purely relative statement. I guess torture of having bamboo shoots driven under your nails for two hours is also justified if it stops American GIs from fighting Communusm in behalf of American an Imperialism ? After all what's two hours ? Also how does punishing students today affect the "lifetime of slavery" that they had nothing to do with? Is it going to stop slavery today? Right let's punish all these kids for something they did not do for the sake of teaching them how evil slavery is......this uscreally a bunch of crazy nonsense dreamed up by Progressives who must likely have been brainwashed themselves. It is evil at its root. John Dewey couldn't have been more happy at this use by the State to make children vehave the way the State wants.
I also don't approve of the Vatican today and just recently read something that an early Pope declared everyone on earth to be under his rule an under the Vatican. Don't you think that's nuts too? Or is it just an old and crusty document ? Guess who's on top of the pike at the Vatican now? A socialist Progressive.
The intent is just as bad as the action. Ask any practicing Buddhist.

bingo

But what I'm getting at is why. No one has given an adequate answer on that front yet. Gut feelings may be enough to state an opinion, but it doesn't involve any reasoning as to why you hold that opinion. What's the basis for it? Is it an opinion that's logically consistent, and therefore worth considering?

The parents do not want this.

Some.
But I am sure they will work together. That's what the PTA meetings are for.

That was auto correct and I fixed it. Teaching black history is not binding kids hands and putting them in dark rooms to get the point across. I cannot believe this level of obfuscation and justification abd now I think you just want to win the argument.

No, I'm saying I seriously doubt they were 'captives', the 'bindings' were probably made of paper, and if they needed to use the restroom or leave for any reason, they verbally said "Yo teach, I need to use the bathroom, I'm done with the exercise 'let me go' please, thank you." and it was over.

or should we ban cops and robbers from the playgrounds now too? Because being a prisoner for a 30 minute recess period might scar them in a fictional scenario.
(Verses telling people they will literally go to hell if you don't do what they say for months at a camp.)

Why would I want to win the argument? If they literally forced the students then I would be against that. You and others have shown nothing to convince us that this was traumatic for the students. Even the mother's other son went through the same thing and never mentioned it. Never shown any sign of trauma or discomfort. Heck it wasn't a surprise to the students anyway because the son and other kids who went through it told others.

I don't think we will see a slave based drama where kids are bound and put in a dark room while slave ship captains do say/things.

And the story never said what the slave captains said or did. I can't imagine any thing good.

The kids were not slaves, their parents were not slaves the Grand parents were not slaves...

And the kids were not slave holders, neither were their parent, Grand parents...
