Yeah we were sitting in our up-armored humvee we were fine. But a 2.75" HE rocket is still plenty to ruin your day if it hits you.

Luckily for the pilot he missed. We were with the MEU CO, SgtMaj, the Bn Gunner, my EOD team and the Docs w/the medical officer.

They reported two serious injuries, so it was most likely sound related injuries. That kind of blast, that close would probably be at least as bad as being near a flash bang going off and mess you up pretty good.

The initial launch, the exhaust looks a bit cartoonish.
The explosion, the shrapnel looks too "in-focus"
the aftermath, cameraman able to take video but no shot of the impact area, and the person who is walking away, they seem to be just strolling away from the scene..

those are really just my initial impressions.

According to the reports, and you can take them or leave them, this was the media area. The target for the helicopter was further down the range, and there was either a short when he armed the weapons and they fired, or the target was misidentified and they fired early.

In that video you can see that not only civilian cars were parked there, but military material.
And exactly that material was hit.
Maybe the spectators were the idiots and had nothing to search there???

That's fair enough. For the record I wasn't asking because I thought you were talking rubbish I was more intrigued as to what you saw that may of made you question the video

Looks like a hardware problem off the HUD...The big X is the laser designator isnt it?
Circle is radar looking for targets I think.
Im trying to find vid of a T72 or T80 at a demonstration day that misfires its autoloader internally causing the crew to bailout with the tank full of smoke..
