The Venezuela government (what's left of it) has come up with a master plan to beat the food shortage down there.

Yep, they got the answer to the whole problem.

!! Start eating your pets and raise rabbits !!

Don't know how true these stories are, but it sure sounds like a "Socialist" plan alright.

?? To each according to his need, from each according to his ability ??

Biased article first, then one from FoxNews.

Socialist Utopia of Venezuela Tells People to Eat Their Pets

“GENERALLY, VENEZUELANS DO NOT EAT RABBITS AND SEE THEM AS PETS…”

The Venezuelan government just urged its citizens to eat their pet rabbits so they won’t starve to death. A severe food crisis is part of the socialist utopia that just keeps going downhill. What’s next? Cannibalism?

President Nicolas Maduro unveiled a government program called “Plan Rabbit” at a meeting with his agriculture minister, Freddy Bernal, that was broadcast on Periscope, CNN Money reported. It’s a plan to distribute rabbits to communities across Venezuela to breed and eat. Maduro noted that rabbits breed quickly and are a good source of protein, but not cholesterol.

Pets or meat? Venezuela's Maduro urges starving populace to eat rabbits

Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro has introduced a “Rabbit Plan” that encourages people to start eating rabbits rather than keep them as pets in a bid to tackle the country's food shortages.

Venezuela has been ravaged by an ongoing economic crisis spurred by the socialist policies of Maduro and his predecessor, the late former President Hugo Chavez.

Low supplies of food and medicine are leaving millions of people starving and desperate for medical treatment. A study published earlier this year reported that roughly 75 percent of Venezuelans lost an average of 19 pounds in the last year due to food shortages, Fox News reported.

and the "wisdom" that takes the cake....

“For animal protein, which is such an important issue, a 'rabbit plan' has been approved because rabbits also breed like rabbits,” he said.

Venezuela does not have a socialist government or society.

Your headline is inaccurate. Surprise.

It might be a "product of" a Socialist Failure.

Ask Bugs Bunny, he might have the answer.

They seem to be more of a corrupt capitalist economy in which the powerful elite minority have had a stranglehold over the majority.

Rabbits are delicious! Especially the ones that are farmed domestically versus the wild version. I think raising rabbits would be a good idea, however when people are already starving, who is going to sit there and watch a male and female rabbit mate, have babies and all the while have to feed them? Then you have to watch and make sure the momma rabbit don't kill her babies. I had one that killed her whole litter.

The only problem I see with Maduro's plan is, "How are people going to afford to feed them?".

Stay classy, Venezuela!

Of course, you'll have countless people saying that "real" socialism is just awesome and we should all be forced to do it.

Well it's not like Truth or Verifiable Facts or you lacking either have ever stopped you from reporting something in the past so why would those things matter now???

As long as it's something to support your agenda you embrace it anyway.

No propaganda or fake news is ever too low on the morality scale for you to promote it after all.

I thought they nationalized just about everything there. If that is true, it doesn't sound very much like capitalism.

Marx said laissez faire capitialism is always followed by communism because unfettered greed would result in a government's currency collapse. Once the currency collapses people in bread lines will DEMAND more government not less.

Everyone in Venezuela is now equal due to the destruction of the economy and turning their entire country into a 3rd world dirt pile. Everyone is equally miserable. Sounds like Socialism to me.

They should raise taxes. Isn't that the go-to solution for government?

I bet their universal healthcare is better than ours also!

Right.
And the Nazis were socialists too. Right.

But never mind the party names. What's the constitution say? Before Maduro came along.
