Left warns Pelosi, Schumer: Don’t get too close to Trump

According to an article from Politico, many Democrats are worried about the sudden bi-partisan discussions going on between President Trump and Congressional Leaders Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer.

They're all worried about the possibility of "giving" too much in order to get a "deal" for the Dreamers.

Seems they want Dreamer legislation without border security.

A lack of border security may be one of the major reasons the U.S. has an immigrant problem in the first place.

I think many Democrats are very concerned that Democrat voters may get even more alienated than they were last year.

And they're worried about the 2018 elections where many Democrats Senators might be in jeopardy.

Maybe many Democrats want to see that Party return to more "traditional" values instead of the wild radicalism.

Left warns Pelosi, Schumer: Don’t get too close to Trump

The Democratic base is growing anxious as its leaders order Chinese food and make deals with the president who many in their ranks would prefer to see impeached.

For some liberal activists and lawmakers, the burgeoning partnership between President Donald Trump and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi amounts to dancing with the devil. As long as the Democrats keep leading — driving a wedge between Trump and the fractured GOP — no one will bust up the dance.

But the sudden burst of bipartisanship could be perilous for Democrats. Already, immigration activists and Hispanic lawmakers are worried Democratic leaders will give too much ground in any deal to protect Dreamers. Progressives are also chiding Schumer and Pelosi for “normalizing” Trump, a man the party intends to run against hard in 2018 and 2020.

Period.

If they don't?

Then they are weak ####ing hypocrites.

This country being the best in the world is the reason for the "Immigration problem".

The rest of the world has literally mimicked everything about America that is amazing to the T.

It's only a few hot spots that despots continue to rule. They will be dead soon too.

Too be honest, I think if more of the left try to work with Trump, it would be more beneficial in the next 2 elections for the democrats. The repubs seem to be stale mating their own President! By siding with Trump, to get something accomplished...it would be a win win in the eyes of voters. If Republicans don't step up...it could be their downfall. Those voters are in the center or independent...the real majority of Americans. I say this even thinking Pelosi is absolutely crazy...but seemingly, she is crazy as a fox, since she keeps getting re-elected! Just my 2cents!

We need fewer Republicans and Democrats in Congress and more Americans. Putting party before country isn't a good strategy. There are major areas where it is in everyone's interest to find long term solutions for.

You know, what difference does it make if Democrats work with Trump or not if they get things they want? Trump is a moderate and Dems should be taking advantage of his frustration with Republicans to get things done that are good for America.

They have an opportunity to help the illegal Dreamers, but they need to be willing to compromise with Trump to fix border security. I don't understand why Dems aren't just as concerned as the rest of America with ILLEGAL immigration. All they need to do is say come to America legally and they would look way smarter to most Americans.

This is about getting things done and America getting its swagger back. Stop with all the partisan BS and get things done.

Aren't many people on the right also against their guy Trump getting too close to Pelosi & Schumer? Weren't many on the right just as strongly against cooperating with Pres Obama? And after all of the Benghazi hearings and the fearmongering about "Hillary's emails" & pizzagate, I have no reason to believe the right wing would want cooperation with a potential President Hillary Clinton. In other words, so what? You can't obstruct and oppose for 8 years straight & then turn around and expect us to forget that crap when your guy is in power.

With that being said, I want them to find an acceptable solution for the Dreamers. But I'm completely against some ridiculous "grand bargain" where they agree to extend DACA in return for the Dems going along w/some of Trump's more radical policy proposals.

The double standard of the modern left is a curious thing. They want the dystopian poverty dens called Sanctuary Cities, while applying liberal gentrification to their own towns and neighborhoods so only rich white people can afford to live there.

South Park nailed it.

If Pelosi and Schumer continue to work together with Trump, next elections will be pointless. CNN will upgrade Trump from nazi to antichrist.

Agreed. And also every pro-lifer should be made to adopt an unwanted child made to be carried to term.

A few quarters of their MSM propaganda machine soothing their voters to any point of view will fix it all up. After all Hillary was for strong borders before she was for open borders, which means she stuck her finger in the air at that time and went with the prevailing Left position which a creature like her always does.

Nice try but fail.

You can't conflate the two.

We do have a consolation prize though.

A years supply of cheese!

They don't want money for a wall in the agreement .
That is not equal to they don't want border security.
That's inflammatory and untrue.

Yes they are. Looks like neither side is willing to Trust each other yet. Thank-goodness Trump is his own man, who wants what's best for Americans, no matter how he gets it.

I'd say the same for Pro-Lifers.

They should be opening up their homes and families for all the unwanted children that are born to help support them.

If you don't want others having abortions or using birth control then the same deal should apply.

How can you compare the two?

The assholes who want open borders affects the entire country.

Abortion is an individual affect.
