President Trump has signed a resolution condemning white supremacists following violence at a rally in Charlottesville, Va., last month, the White House announced late Thursday, 9-14-2017.

"As Americans, we condemn the recent violence in Charlottesville and oppose hatred, bigotry, and racism in all forms," Trump said in a statement released by the White House.

President Trump Signs a Resolution Condemning White Supremacists.

By "condemning" them, does this make White Supremacists the same as domestic-based terrorists? I hope this resolution comes with some legal "teeth"...consequences. Otherwise it's just a superficial gesture.

Was this resolution the result of one of those Petitions we've seen floating around? What other groups should be "resolutioned" like this?

I suppose that this will be the new norm.

Only 'official' condemnation is accepted in the future.

Any teeth as you say would likely violate the first amendment.
We already have anti discrimination laws so I doubt this will add to them.

No it should not...(imho)

I think hate crime legislation is obviously knee jerk and doomed to be used on people it should not be applied to.

If some one commits cold blooded murder.

Premeditated murder, with no threat to themselves..

I don't care why they did it...

Murder them for their jordans, or for their race. Imho the penalty should remain the same.

It is a subjective criteria.

President Trump must be awfully bored. Gotta be terribly frustrating to have to rely on a do-nothing Congress to get REAL STUFF accomplished.

The White Supremacists aren't being deemed as terrorists...are they? That's what would disband them.

White supremacy is a bad way to think.

But are we punishing thought now?

I have no idea, other than this # show is surreal to watch and whatever comes from it will affect us all.

Amusing. Trump's a Blue Dog Democrat. You know he loves the Klan. That's also why they love him.

No denying your origins.

Speaking about nasty groups - the House votes to make membership in a criminal street gang a deportable offense.
The article goes on to say,
"This week, Congress is joining the president in the fight to protect our young people with the introduction of H.R. 3697, the Criminal Alien Gang Member Removal Act. Under current law, membership in a criminal street gang does not make an immigrant inadmissible or deportable.
Introduced by Rep. Barbara Comstock (R-VA), this bill changes that and makes membership in a criminal street gang a deportable offense. This includes felony drug offenses, crimes of violence, and various offenses involving trafficking, identify theft, slavery, and intimidation."
Finally!

Come to think of it, that's exactly what he's doing. Condemning a name...a thought.

At least when you condemn Nazis, you're condemning actual mass murderers.

Staroth, You should start a thread on this! It raises all kinds of legal issues. I was going to do so, but got side-tracked.

Well to show how conservative media deals with racism.

This resolution is the same thing as when a mayor or governor declares a day officially hot dog day, or something of that nature.

Its just an official way of saying "#, fine, you need me to sign, stamp and have it notarized???! Me saying it on TV for years was not good enough, so I will just sign a resolution and the critics can please stfu now!"

But see, Trump #ed up... cuz he signed it on .... WHITE PAPER!! and used black ink to do the work.

Ohhhh.. the horror

If you look closely they all have slightly different pigmentation. Quit being so racist.
Besides, the msm would never push you to do so...
