While everyone is here signaling their outrage, has anyone bothered to ask themselves why these far right conservative speakers keep selecting Berkeley, the home of liberalism, to hold their rallies at?

Because they're not cowards that hide behind masks? How do you think any place becomes the home of any ideology (anti-diversity), without originally suppressing alternative viewpoints? How do you think minds are changed in the first place?

You go to the source and rattle the cage.

Carewemust did, a few replies ago. But yes, that is a very good question. I smell promotional fodder for his news outlet. Look at me look at me, I"'m being repressed.'' It's an old trick but it still works to get the opposition riled up and paints you as a hero and martyr for ones base supporters.

What's the point of speaking to people that already support you? Why is it so nefarious that someone with an alternative viewpoint is speaking to those that think differently in an attempt to gain support for what they believe in? What's the worst that can happen, people disagree and go on with their lives?

Um, because it was Berkeley which labelled itself as the forefront of acceptance of free speech and tolerance of others.

Good lord, read up on history.

The same reason football players are sitting down during the national anthem.
To get a reaction.
Works, dont it?

Exactly. So people need to remember that when they try to use these rallies to paint the left in a bad light.

If there is violence perpetrated by the LEFT, it's the left's fault and responsibility. They are adults with IQ's above the mental retardation level.

Your last sentence is debatable IMO.

Certainly this is true. But how we paint the protagonist in the situation. Hero or self promoter. We can wish they are the one we would like them to be, or we can be practical and allow for both potentials for their motivation.
Ben could have chosen a more neutral place for his speech, but didn't. It is his right. However to ignore the very real possibility that he is aching for a fight and hero status is closing our eyes to a much more realistic understanding of our human struggle.

You go to the source and rattle the cage.

Being against people who are anti-diversity, doesn't make one anti-diversity.

That's the same type of thinking that leads people on the right to label people calling out racists, racist. Only in today's world of believe anything that makes you feel good propaganda does that make sense to people.

And really, rattle some cages? Do you honestly believe Ben Shapiro or Milo went to Berkeley to convert people to the right? Or is it more likely it's just to cause outrage and build their brand up more?

You might be right. I still don't know what the "LEFT" wants. They're as nutty as Kim Jong. What would make them satisfied?

And it still is. Like I said above, being against anti-diversity, doesn't make one anti-diversity.

Here's a crazy idea, it's to speak. You know, the act of which public speakers engage in.

You're acting like they only speak in Berkeley. Both speak all over the country on a regular basis, well over 100 times each in countless cities.

Your sorry act of trying to sway accountability of nutty leftists acting like fools in Berkeley away from Berkeley is pathetic.

All the smug little elitist snowflakes and the mental group tugs ...

Another "right-wing" agitator goes to Berkeley in hopes of getting a reaction out of someone (planted) in the crowds so they too can get their 15 minutes on Hannity or Rush or whatever bloviating mass will have them.

You're finding out that the violence genie that you all let out of the bottle at Tea Party protests and that matured at the Trump rallies last summer is bearing gifts you don't think you like so much: openly marching Nazi thugs being physically confronted with anti-fascists thugs on the streets of America.

IF there are any innocent folks in Berkeley, I hope they're safe at least. The two "sides" can wipe each other out.

Man that's funny, I wonder what the pep talk sounds like before they go into battle...Something like " now remember everyone, be careful out there as words can break bones and kill people and stuff"
