It looks like Amazon has went over to the dark side.

In what many have dubbed a flagrant intervention by Amazon itself to seemingly boost the rating of Hillary Clinton's new book, the Telegraph first reported, and subsequently many others observed first hand, that Amazon has been monitoring and deleting 1-star reviews of Hillary Clinton's new book "which was greeted with a torrent of criticism on the day it was released."

Check out the pics in the article.
Somewhere in the neighborhood of 1200 one star reviews were deleted.

Too small for these old eyes to read. Do you think that those reviews were people that read the book or rather those that just anted to put her down? Deese imternets can be funny dat way.

Pretty sure Amazon checks to see if reviewers actually purchased the book and erase bad reviews of people whom didn't.
Probably the case here.

Hard to say truthfully, but never the less the international news media has picked up the story and ran with it.
So for fair or foul, the whole world knows about it now and considers it to be the truth.

If they're legit reviews they should stay, if it's just trolls haphazardly doing their troll thing then I can see why they're deleting em. I'm sure the book is crap either way.

This thread should make it there. There's honesty here.

This is also what I'm thinking. I'm almost positive that they have a policy about this very thing.

I don't think it's any great secret that I despise the vile hag with every fiber of my being.

But if you're going to do a review, then read the ####ing book first!

The old saying goes that you can't judge a book by its cover. This is a unique case however. Here, we have the question and the answer written right on the cover. No reading required.

Way to hurt their rep in one fell swoop. That was stupid. Businesses should be smarter than to get involved in politics (but they've probably been incentivized with "favors" to do this)

I don't think they usually remove them. The reviews just have a "verified purchase" tag if the reviewer bought the item through Amazon. There are tons of reviews that aren't verified that are not removed.

If you look here the first review is verified and the second is not.
