what about fixing the star system on ATS

Just a question some members have 40mijlon stars how come ?
Is this a bug or so ? Or is it possible to buy stars ?
If it's a bug can it be fixed ? This would add great value to the board (stars would become more meaningfull)

yes there is a bug it has been there for years, what if some members are hacking the stars on ATS (ask the question make a post)

with all the social/media manipulation on the internet I'm question whether the broke stars count on ATS is on purpose. Members with an excessive amount of stars are usually skeptics. go figure.

Actually, they are exclusively members who joined prior to a certain date. This, of course, would depend upon your opinion of what "excessive" means.

Just get rid of the star system entirely.

It would eliminate the incentive to post garbage just to harvest stars.

I am sure it would slightly improve content around here and any improvement in content would be welcome.

Ha... thanks for clearing that up. Now I understand. So if one joined before a certain date one has 10mijon stars or so. Well that's a distorted view (of stars) isn't it.

So the star system is faulty and meaningless... and OMG can't be fixed ?
Just giving the wrong impression that certain members are populair on ATS.

How's this, whenever you see a gajillion stars, don't listen to anything that person says. I never do.

One day in 2015, I woke up and had a gajillion ATS stars. It was like hitting the jackpot. I'd trade them all in for a jackpot on the casino slot machine, however.

I know. It's wonderfully easy (depending on how deep you get with nested tables and stuff).
As I understand it, there is no way to reconstruct the star history of the golden ones. So, just take their stars away?

But don't you think that ATS is doing a poor job in making a credible star system.
I mean look , they give you some numbers under your avatar. Which are pretty much meaningless.
But is has a psychological impact on new members.
ATS isn't about stars I know so why not simply get rid of them. Get rid of that buggy distorted number.

I mean stars are something you get in Kindergarten. Why not grow up and ditch the star system entirely.
